Alright, id just like to get some opinions on pitch resolution, or accuracy.
I bring this up, because denon has released thier new dn-s1000 cd player, and it can only be as accurate as 0.1, but thier previous players have been as accurate as 0.02. Some people are making a huge fuss over this, but im not sure, as i have only used that low of accuracy a couple times.
So what do you guys think? Is 0.1 not accurate enough? I think the cdj 100 only had that kind of accuracy as well, but people seem to like it. Oh, and keep in mind that this new player has pitch bend buttons. |

| You get what you pay for. 0.1 isn't really up there for long mixes, you'll have to pay more attention and fix things with a pitch bend, not that this is such a big problem. That's a good part of why these decks are cheaper though. |

it depends on the setup.
if you are using it with decks, its fine having accuracy of 0.1, as you can make the tiny minute adjustment on the deck if need be.
its not really that bad if you are using 2 cd decks with that increment, but you will have to keep fiddling a bit more to keep it in for long-ass mixes, which leaves less room for concentration on the mix. |

Thanks for your thoughts.

| .1 is really no good. I play on CDJ 1000's and .02 sometimes is not good enough. |

maybe its your ears.
also it will depend on the orginal source of the music. if you are playing some mp3 thats ripped on an old and tired deck, it will not have total pitch perfection (its actually rare for a vinyl to have 0 pitch fluctuation due to the nature of the medium).
so yes, 0.02 should always be enough. |

| 0.1 is a bitch – there are times when you have to make corrections every 3 beats, though it balances out, and there are also occasions when you don’t even need to make an adjustment! |

| IMO, .1% is awful. I don't get why all these companies are putting out expensive ass cd decks and they're ing up the most important part of them. I have a cdj1000 MK2 and an s3000, both have .02% accuracy and that is perfect. |

| well .02 is very good, but I rather have it a bit lower. I guess its just because I usually play on TT, which have an analog pitch fader that allows you to go as fine as you want. Then again, with .02 I can mix 2 tracks for a long while without having to touch anything. |
