The chimays and mcchouffs are good, the maudite, trois pistoles, and El fin du monde are also excellent.
Deleriums (nocturnum, tremens) are awesome! I like the nocturnum better but both are awesome.
Samuel Smiths Nut brown ale is delicious.
Fat tire is alright slightly played out, but I like the slightly grainy taste it has. If you like that style, but want something a little stronger...like 10% stronger, get their Trippel. Its fantastic.
I have to say all the asian stuff isnt really up there. I mean Kirin Ichiban, Tsingtao, and Sapporo are kind of like budwesier but "asian" and cool hehe. I always get them when Im watching anime though, so I cant hate too much :D
Stone Breweries out of California produces awesome stuff (the bastards , imperials, and elysiums)
Bombardier and Fullers London Pride are fun, not as good in the states, but I still love em.
Kilt Lifter and Skull Splitter are among my favorites for just hanging out and drinking hard.
I gained 10lbs from drinking 90pints of Guinness one week. It was awesome, I love that stuff! I used to HATE the extra stout, but now its like buttah.
The most syrupy and digusting porter Ive ever had is LaConners Porter.
It practically oozes out of the bottle, its intense. I plan on innuring myself to it one day. Probably this winter.
The people who make Old Skratch, downtown brown are awesome, their labels looked a little funky at first, I like serious classic beer, but they actually have one hell of a brewery and ive been loving them.
Naughty Nellies is decent, I get it occasionally, but meh, kind of upper middle of the road, usually rather get something else.
As far as pales go, I have to admit I like Henry Weinhardts blue boar for just kind of a nice crisp taste with a slight bite.
If you like the dirty mexican beers (the beer is dirty) the negro modelo especial is great, as is the dos equis.
Duvel is probably one of, if not my, all time favorite beers. Hard and smooth and has an almost fruity earthiness thats hard to get. The bottle refermentation is what does that because yeast tastes slightly like lemon or citrus usually. Combined with its hearty malt and spiked alcohol, this is a kick ass beer.
But, I think the hardest core beer Ive had is Stone Breweries Double Bastard seasonal. Makes Duvel and and Arrogant Bastard look like pussies :p
If its gonna be a lonnnnnnggggggg night, Ill usually just get a case and a half of rolling rock lite, or michelob ultra.
If im drinking hard and cheap, its gonna be a fifth of Seagrams 7 and Diet 7-up.
Thats pretty much all my regulars. There are a few specialty beers ive had, but never really get them often. |
