| Fireworks seemed well choreographed (sp) too. The drum guys were good in the beginning. I had a hard time hearing some of the music too, heard a few familiar tracks and was like wtf since most evens don't seem to play trance but more classical type stuff or pop dance music. I didn't understand the order of the countries coming in but perhaps i missed something too. |

She did....of wait, you must have a longer tape delay.
She sings right after the parade of nations.....and you can barely hear her singing over Bob the douchebag and Katie the snarf babbling incessantly.

a plane of smoke, lasers coming from the sides perpendicular to it and a light from teh bottom shooting up,... will give you that effect... i was also curious about it |
No..I am speaking about the physical effect of the sculpture separating into smaller and smaller pieces.
I know how they did all the lighting effects in principle....the actual design of the separating thing is what interests me.

They are done in alphabetical order in the native language of the host country, with Greece always coming first and the host nation last. Greece just had their flag brought in first then came in last since they fit both.

Bjork sang while they pulled her dress out so it would cover the athletes on the field (kinda old gimmick in my opinion...was nice in 1992, but even with adding the map to it, I think they should have done something more original there, especially since the production was very original up to that point.)

I thought about changing my major to engineering for about 5 seconds during this. |

| I wish i recognized the torch runners. It was cool for that last one in the US with Mohammed Ali, etc because most of the world knew who the guy was. |

Engineering would have had little to do with it.....you would need a degree like I have (Theatre Technology) to get into building things like that.
I know how a lot of the effects were done...but that one is still churnin in my head.....it would probably have been obvious had I been able to actually see the cables holding it up as it separated.....but my tv is neither HD nor very big.....sigh.
