Just when I had calmed down and apologised for my un-tactful way of presenting my post you have to make a post like this! Are you completely stupid or what? u say that kind of 'popish' (as YOU call it) trance is commercially profitible right now, it sells. Then you go on to say that it's dead? WTF are u talking about, the more commercial something is the most non-dead if u like it is!

Now before u all start accusing me of being all for over commercailism of trance and pop/euro trance iam not ok! I think maybye trance is getting a little too commercialised, what what the ! as long as the epic tunes keep on comming out ill still but them regardless of what the ed-up party-pooping media have to say about it! have u ever thought why epic trance is so profitable? maybye its because it sells!!! and if it sells it means its popular and therefore NOT DEAD!!!! :eek: :eek: :eek: well theres a suprise!
Personally i love epic so much that even if every DJ stops playing it ill keep on listening...Isn't if funny how the ppl who slag off trance are always the ones that are into montotone/deep/tech/tribal/funky/disco house....and the other million house genres! everything they say about trance is what i think of there type of music! boooooring sloooooow ! and i bet thats what your into!
and who was it who said ferry van tiestofold? woz it havoc? oh well i cant be bothered to press back and check! Tell that to 99% of us REAL trance addicts not ppl like havoc who obviously loves trance to bits! and you will get ripped to ing shreads!

Cuba i agree with you on one point..and that is that Trance will never die...... But i disagree with you to......if trance ever will die it will be because of the media....when trance is nothing but Comersial chesse.....then (if u ask me) its dead.......

The original spirit of the music is dead. It was new, exciting, orignal, what's around today is not. Perhaps you should have read my post a little more carefully. I can't even understand the last sentence, so I won't respond to it.

Actually, I was referring to commercial as music for SELLING, I don't care who listens to what when. I don't care if what I listen to is popular, alot of people listened to that style back a few years ago, it still wasn't commercial. I don't give a flying whether you are for the commercialism of trance or not. All I was saying was that the majority of people who bitch about the sub-par quality of tunes are right, and you telling them to shut up about it was ignorant. I'm still laughing about the media thing, what the hell is that all about?

Most DJ's have stopped playing it. Yes, I'm into other types of house music, I like experiencing all types of music, instead of completely focusing my attention on one genre. I personally enjoy epic trance as well, I think Armin van Buuren is a great dj, as is Paul van Dyk. Tiesto is a great producer, Oakenfold is a little played, but he gets his message across. I don't care much for Ferry Corsten, though. You can call other types of music boring, it doesn't bother me, it's just displaying your own ignorance for variety.

Yeah, I said it, I'm just saying it's all the same style of music, very little variety or creativity. I like them, but I can still talk about them, yay for the internet.

yeah I listen to a lot more techno/electro now but my tastes have slightly altered although I still fall to my knees from a great trance track
grow up and stop whining!!
and techno is not the future it has been around longer than trance and it won't let all of you in if you want to join in |

Well, I definitely agree with whoever started this thread, I think it was dj_cuba!
As a matter of fact I wanted to start a thread like this myself, perhaps not as hostile but with the same idea.
I'm sick and tired also of famous DJ's taking a backlash against (epic/uplifting) trance and everyone saying "it's dead," it's not dead! Epic Trance is by definition more popular because more people can appreciate it and relate to it. Other kinds of electronic music, on the other hand, require a special preparation and "an open mind."
The "connosseurs" can grimace and cringe all they want about what they call "bubbly trance" or "cheese." To me, what THEY call "a stylish palette of hints of sounds and layered textures" is BORING .
I think there are very few famous DJ's nowadays who are brave enough to come out and say, "I like Epic Trance." Why? Because if you do, you're "not cool" nowadays. Well, that's just too bad, because the quality is really going down with the crap that they spin now.
Don't worry, when I become a DJ (soon enough) I will revive the spirit of epic/uplifting, in fact that will be my style :) Sasha and Digweed can kiss my ass :p |

In my record store there is a section where there are hundreds of dance vinyls of all genres and everyone picks up the trance and hard house vinyls, the biggest and most popular clubs still book teh biggest trance DJs, so what does that say for the popularity of trance, while trance may not be as popular as it was in '99 the supposed backlash of trance is just one big loada bull invented by the media to kill off trance...and i can't believe some of u are falling for it! |

LMFAO! yes that is totally true! ive got quite a few dance magazines and EVERYONE now thinks its cool to diss trance in them, they always get some arsehole who's into this boring monotone housey to review trance and its always the same...final verdict: 'bosh-bosh candy/crasher kid glowstick trance! 0/5' and its soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo faustrating becuase its THEM who play and produce the boring crap! not the trance!
