| haha yeah trance in the us practically doesnt exsist except for darude or alice deejay. your lucky if you get that. ppl call it techno too. godddddddddd i hate that soooooooo much. i just wanna scream out "HEY ****** ITS CALLED TRANCE, NOT TECHNO YOU STUPID FOOL. THEY ARE 2 DIFFERENT KINDS OF MUSIC". but then they would look at me all weird and probably think im crazy. |

| USSR Junkie your site selection is more detroit than pure techno, but theses kinds (techno/detroit/electro/min tek...) are amazing too, and at the moment no song of this style is in a top100 :) these are underground style, but i think that like trance now, they will go out. |

i just want to add in your list www.axisrecords.com , label of jeff mills.
you also have a lot of tek/electro/detroit artists like Africa Bambaataa, Grandmaster Flash, Kraftwerk, Herbie Hancock, Foremost Poets, Endzeit, DJ Lukas, Sims and Dax. check them to find your music.
and also some labels : Axis, Amuk, Planet Rythm, Aural Satisfaction, Müller, Primate, Ferox, Plastikman, Parasound, Mechanisms Industries... |

| i forgot the Skunkworks label, wich is THE swedish techno label, another tek subgenre, very rythmic & amazing one. |

huh? what!?
every ing commercial break on the tv has a commercial for some goddamn trance cd - "everyone" listens to trance - "all" clubs play trance - "everyone" goes to raves...
hah.
trance is just as ing mainstream/commercial as any other top20 dance act is.
sorry, but trance is not regarded as "underground" anymore... it hasn't been "underground" for donkey years. |
actually here in north america it is underground.
it's not mainstream... not commercial and is not played on the radio and tv.
I don't know what's considered underground in norway but here in civilization trance is... |

Hey, wit!
What's your problem!
Calling people names just because you think you're ing better living over there in the ing wastelands of NorthAm.
NorthAm has NEVER had a scene for techno/trance/electronica/whatever like we have here in Europe.
Just ing typical of (some/most) americans (or Canadians... same what.. they go for the same for us on the Continent!) thinking they are SOOOOOOO much better than the rest of the world!
Because most of you listen to country, rap and rock doesn't mean all other music genres automaticly are regarded as "underground"...
You have to look at a world perspective... The whole ing world doesnt evolve around ing america, you know.
And don't bother replying with "My-city-is-bigger-than-yours" or "I-know-more-about-the-trance-scene-than-you" replies.... It's no use.
I'm not saying that I know everything about electronic music, but I know a great deal... I've been DJ'ing for 8 years, and I've been working in a local independent record store (dance music ONLY) for years. And I work for Norway's largest rave organizer/promoter. There's possibly NOTHING you (Joe Knowles) know about the world's trance scene that is worth knowing at all.
And if some of you other Canadians or Americans find my post offending in some way, I apoligize. It wasnt intended for you... It was ONLY meant for the oh-I'm-so-civilized-joek-ing-knowles |

Irios, I must disagree w/ you on this subject. Why should we be forced to look at the world perspective. Perception is reality and we can only perceive what's all around us. Let's say someone from a third world country said that food is hard to come by, then you called them an a**hole because most other countries have an abundace of food and they need to think globally--that wouldn't make sense now would it???
I don't think that discojoe should have verbally insulted you, but you shouldn't encourage it by ranting back at him and all canadians and americans while you're at it. That just makes the situation worse. We americans are new to this whole seen and for us trance is more underground than other genres of music. That is our reality and we should not be forced to change our thoughts and opinions just because all of this is old hat for you. Maybe you should open your mind a little more and try to imagine that this type of music isn't all over the radio, tv and music stores like it is where you are. Maybe one day it will be, but right now it isn't--that's reality.
Just my 2 cents.:) |

| Jesus I make a comment like " I love techno too! problem is its even more underground than trance" and you blow a ing hole through your ass. Don't get upset or anything! Did you look at where I came from before YOU responded? Did you make any consideration about where I came from before YOU responed? If I suggest (not insist there is a difference) that trance is underground did YOU ever think for a second before posting that the rest of the modern world might not be exactly like Norway. |

dude, i think u don't understand what i like. my selection has only few detroit techno sites.A good part of it is ACID TECHNO
And this is what i love the most.I've got almost all vinyls from SUF(R) Records and 4x4 Records. and i don't like minimal techno either .and dude "no song of this style is in a top100'????? :eyes: LOL Are u serious??? Which charts did u look at?? Take any *Techno* chart - and i mean really an UNDERGROUND tekno chart - and u'll find at least 2 minimal techno traxx there for sure. Moreover, minimal will never get out from underground (unfortunately) because most people prefer that cheeeeese that now is called Trance. i agree it was a cool genre earlier but now it sounds just like a commercial cheese... *sigh* |
ok but you didn't understand me correctly too... my top100 wasn't a teckno charts... it's one where you can find EVERY style of music, and somewhere we see trance producers... (best example is safri duo).
it's sure that if you look an a tekno related chart youll find min tek and many others subgenres. i'm personnally in love with swedish techno  |

| emerica |
that's swedish style...
you also have hardcell & misjah and major part of rerun bookings. others big names of swedish tek is joel mull, karl lekebush, marco carola.... |

Asian quality - No Comparison to Europe´s
SO THIS IS WHOM I´D VOTE FOR BEST TECHNO DJ:
GAYLE SAN
she just kicks ass!!! when she´s mixin and u think there is no harder or higher, she shows u there IS!!!!!
Cari Lekebusch & Marco Carola are quite cool but i prefer sounds of
Andrew Richley
Thomas Krome
James Ruskin
Ryan Rivera
Adam Beyer
Pascal F.E.O.S.
Chris Liebing(when Gayle San is a Fefale Techno God then is C.L. the male Techno God):D:D:D
