errrrrr *buzzzzz* wrong answer
TIC is actually about a month after voting closes.
Although that wont stop a lot of armchair fans who dont know better to say - he's doing a TIC 2 that makes him the best.
LOSERS. |

WRONG
TIC was in May voting didnt begin until August. Last time I check the calendar May comes before August.
TIC II I think is what you are refering to.
Reguardless the point being made is that Tiesto , through these events, is able to re-create his image of good standing amongst fans and newdies for anothers 6-7 months until he sucks again and needs to do another big show. Clever marketing from the Dutch indeed. |

Tiesto
All the magic cds I have of his are ok. nothing great. maybe if I was listening to them back in 2000 Iwould feel differently but there not as good as I think ppl make them out to be. I really like his TIC tracklist. I just enjoyed every song he played ( expect disc 3 which was a little to hard). What I loved about him though was his passion and crowd interaction. He jsut seemed to be having fun. It was something new. Seeing him dance to the music kinda made me enjoy the song more. I really enjoyed the very melodic songs he would play. Alot more trancier at times than say Armin. when he puts time and effort in building his tracklsits his is truely amazing, but like I expereinced in Chicago live, he is one of the worst "on the spot(i.e. very little sleep , no preperation , etc)" Dj's to see live. That said Tiesto seems to be able to save himself and his fans by creating these massive parties where he prepares a tracklist (i.e olympics) and wins his fans back and new fans as well.
I think Tiesto would be amazing if he just did 8 large world events. events he would plan and take the time and energy to create. For example one large IN Concert event for NYC, USA would be fine for allof us USA fans. If people knew this was going to be magical they and I would make the effort to see him live in NYC. |
Do you actually think about what ur gonna say before typing???
I've never seen so much in one place. Ur basing ur opinion of TIC on the rip... if u were there - u'd understand just why people have no control over obsession with tiesto.
He doesnt need to save himself - u only get to hear wats broadcast and most of the time its festivals where tiesto admitedly isnt at 100% - he has to limit himself to play a short set - where i believe he's more uncomfortable. Then like u say he does TIC and thats broadcasted - so everyone in America suddenly hears the 'true' tiesto and think he's god again. If only they knew he was more like this than he is their opinion based on 1 live showing in a year. U've been to Chicago and wasn't impressed. He doesnt hit it 100/100 everytime. even to have 90 sets out of 100 (over 12 months) to be excellent is a good turn over in my opinion... And u can't base ur opinion on how he is live on just 1 set.
If u DJ - it would be like if i turned up at your house with 2 records u had never heard before... and asked u to mix them perfectly first time without getting any soundclash or hi-hats ing up... u wouldnt do it. But does that mean u are a dj? Or just one that didnt perform when it mattered?
Tiesto can come to Chicago and not play what YOU want to hear. That doesnt mean he is bad. If he doest wave or blow kisses at you - it doesnt make him a bad dj.
U don't like 'disc 3' of TIC... says it all. If u like EDM and trance how can u not like the whole set from TIC??? lmao
If he did just do 8 gigs a year that u bollocked on about... why would you bother going??? damn... u might like the first hour - but what about when he plays some techno to spice it up a bit.. or some hard trance *heaven forbid*... hope u bring ur ear muffs.
Maybe in 2 years time... u can get this topic back up and realise just what a waste of space it is... or even laugh about how u doubted putting techno into a set - as ur now old enough to realise it has a purpose in the direction and flow of a set. |

Are u a gimp? Cos wearing a mask is the only reason i can think of why u didnt see OR READ that the first quote was referring to TIC II - as being in time for voting. The first one was in May - just shows how much ur in the loop not to KNOW that TIC 2 is gonna be taking place in October. AND I QUOTE : "i think TiC 2 will be just in time for the voting..smart guy" which is why i replied saying it wont be.. but it won't stop people like you voting for him - thinking it will be.
Clever Marketing? He had to wait till now - for a number of reasons. The summer is too full of festivals in Holland (practically one every week) to maintain the audience for a 25000 sell out - why? - they'd all be at dance valley - whats the point in clashing dates? Then there is the problem of waiting for the ground to be free - it also houses pop concerts and football matches. It couldnt of been before the summer because of his commitment to Heineken's Thirst Tour. Which still goes on now in the summer thru Europe.
TIC's take about 4-5 months planning. That at least should explain why after going on a world tour in January - May tiesto is now getting round to doing another one.
You really must start thinking what u are gonna say - or at least READ the post before hand. |

I heard someone else mention that armin plays alot of anthems and after anylizing his tracklists from recent to past I kinda agree with this comment. He seems to drop alot of crowd favorites. But he always past and recent has always stayed true to his roots i.e trance. Unlike PVD , when I bought armins production work and his remixes than I went to go see live there is no difference. He is a trance dj and producer at both ends. No surprises when you go see him. Armin is a very constant DJ. However, unlike PVD ,imo, he doesnnt quite drop those new massive tracks that PVD finds. That said everytime I see Armin live I always feel that I got my moneys worth and I enjoyed the show. Armin is the best live on the spot DJ in the world imo. He seems to please the crowd the best.

this is what i dont get about the bigger named djs, i would rather hear tracks that are generally enjoyed by most (ie anthems) as opposed to some dj that I dont personally know deciding for me what I should like because he does and is god
as the bigger names go, armin is the only one I'd expect to enjoy seeing, as i dont like what tiesto and pvd play, and when ferry does play the trance i like, it's all his own stuff from 99. armin kinda does the past and present thing and is more likely to play the kinda trance i like
i've recently been noticing that none of the big names play what i own on 12", and its the smaller names/up n comings/club residents that do |

you must like techno.:wtf:
No I have been to 5 or 6 Teisto shows. and have alot his live sets radio and club on cd. I saw his TIc on DVD but also got the entire concert on Cd becuase the DVD edited alot out. I was at his last show here in Chicago at the house of blues which was amazing( just to show you I am not bashing him).
I never really cared for his magic stuff. Kinda lame. I prefered PVD over Tiesto at that time. Out There and Back owned me at that time.
Good points you made up to the point about the techno thing. I think I will never like Techno. Unless I start doing drugs or time warp and turn 18 again
:stongue:
P.S.
Go read Tiesto party reports on his forum and you'll see what Im talking about.
I dont think its a waste of space if we all have an intellegent debate on it. Instead of the typical "oine line" bashing |

thats one of my points as well - there is never much bashing on that site. Why is it only on TA that Tiesto plays crap? Its all about ur perception i hope u agree - tiesto.com is going to get reports of WOW tiesto... but i never understand is why on here not many people actually become fans - they just jump on the bashing bandwagon. |

I dont understand why people use such language? Cant people have intellegent conversation w/ attacking another person? I wrote some opinions I had hoping to stir a bit of conversation not an arguement.
I try my best to be fair yet express what I feel. I am sorry if my opinions are not in favor with yours. I feel the only the only way others and future Ta members can learn something about DJ's is though intellegent debate. Not these childish remarks.
How old are you? You must be like 16 or 17 !?
Just calm down..breath.... I know you excited but you can do it:happy2: |

ROFL if EVERYONE played anthems trance would be boring and out of that a very stagnant scene. Having new tunes or promo tunes or quirky signiature tunes for each dj is a way of keeping the scene fresh.
If the big names play some strange thing that was produced by someone u've never heard of why feel the need to buy it if u don't like it... just pass on it.
My question to u on that is - - how do anthems become anthems???
At one time they were unknown tunes by unknown artists given to the DJ... only in time have they become so well known - and at one point the anthem would've been the ID or the unknown track in the set. In 2003 u hear veracocha and go mental... in 1997 would u have frowned???? |

I dont have any idea WTF your talking about but clearly here you are saying that TIC ( which was his first concert) occured after voting closes.
WRONG
TIC ( May 2003 ) occured BEFORE the ballots are sent off for voting.
PLEASE CLARIFY IF I AM WRONG |

yeah u are still wrong.
The QUOTE i was referring to said "TIC II will be before voting closes"...
which i corrected... it will be just after voting closes...
which is why u wear a mask - cos u can't read he said TIC II... u think we are saying this about TIC I... that would be stupid.
TIC II will be AFTER the voting closes.... which is what i said - ur reply to me saying that was "WRONG TIC was before voting started!" thats just something entirely different.
:D
This isn't the next installment of Lethal Weapon we're talking about
'TIESTO IN CONCERT' is a brand name concept... one that doesnt need one's two's three's after it to talk about. |
