so i guess Sasha's love for the white stuff is rumors too huh ? Come on Durafei, i'm not saying Tiesto is a pill monster, but he has done drugs -- this has been documented by people who have partied alongside him. I've seen him a few times where he was definately drunk and probably high as well.

Anyway, since you probably want some proof i'm just going to paste an excerpt from a Tiesto interview.

Source

Superglo: have you ever had an experience with any substance?

Tiesto: Yea I had experiences with drugs, but more soft drugs. I never did hard drugs, but i did uh... I smoked some weed - I'm from Holland you know - and I tried some herbal Ecstacy.

[The herbal Ecstacy] was really strange for my head. I couldn't mix any records, I couldn't hear the beats, because everything I was hearing was delayed for a half-second. So I was mixing in a club and everyone was watching me like 'hey, he can't mix anymore!'. So I thought: I could never do drugs when I was DJing, because then I would up a whole lot!

Herbal Esctasy...Rigggght. I guess he had to say it for the interview, afterall, you can't admit you do hard drugs, not with legions of fans like Starsearcher who look up to you as the stright edge GOD.

Interesting though how he links doing drugs with his inability to mix. Should we infer then that when Tiesto has given performances where he has wrecked on more then a few occasions that he was under the influence of some, umm...what did he call it again ? oh yeah, herbal Ecstacy ? :D

Ultimately it shouldn't matter, because Tiesto is an adult and capable of determining how much of any substance he should do. My statement wasn't so much an attack on Tiesto as a comment that there is a high percentage of DJ's as well as Clubbers who at some point have consumed and partied under the influence of drugs. If you don't want to accept what is common knowledge to most clubbers then fine, keep your blinders on, just don't call it a rumor.

Most of the bitching on this board is done in Guvernment's general direction.
Which is why I hope the investigation ends up there at some point.

Toronto's clubscene is doing quite well, I think. I certainly find myself with choices every weekend - too many, sometimes.

i think so. i dont recall people being so excited for summer last year, as they were this year!

lots of talent, and lots of parties. Fine we may not have 20,000 people gatherings, but we do have WEMF, 10 years strong to boot!

i dont think he was denying that djs/drugs mix, just that specific case and point, to which you were refering.

Folks get a clue, when the general public starts focussing in on the club scene, ITS NEVER A GOOD THING FOR PARTIERS!

I agree with you there...I'd love to see the cops police areas known for violence and severe overcrowding and just leave the rest alone. When was the last time that someone high on e actually hurt someone else? Who exactly is demanding that police "crack down" on the club district? Whose interests is this crackdown serving? NO ONE!!!

FFS, the general public can be so misinformed and paranoid sometimes

Well there two deaths related to extasy not long ago...and there was a big hoop laa about it too in the media and everything...and someone I know head a heart attack - also extasy and drug related...and there are more cases that kinda go under the radar...

They aren't hurting someone else but themselves...that's the problem :)

its human nature to fear what you dont know, isnt it?

common people, yes the city shut down parties on Gov property, but its not like they shut down the scene alltogether, just moved it to a more regulated area, wherer there are rules and standards; which in our (TO) case have not been followed. But we know cause there were some sort of guidlines in place, to measure against.

Look for the city to impose ridiculous rules similar to what they did in 2000 that effectively killed the rave scene.

And this is a bad thing because?

Syrous parties where the absolute worst, the last thing Id want is a party with 5,000 let alone 20,000.

The rave scene died for the same reason disco did, it was a fad. There are many cities that didnt have ridiculous laws imposed and the scene still died.

Im for one am happy that when I go to a good party now Im going with true trance lovers and not band wagon jumpers who wanted the cheapest thrill of some e. God bless those ridiculous rules from 2000!!!

You guys sure have a hard on for The Guvernment. Everyone knows the place is crowded, (and yes over crowded) but what this article shows you is that they are no different than any other club in the city.

I'm not saying they shouldn't crack down on every club, but if any of you were the owners of a club you would be tempted to do the same thing. I'm going to hate to hear you guys complain when you are stuck outside the club because they are at capacity waiting for a couple of people to leave so you can get in.

Ultimately you are responsible for your own safety, there will always be people who push the boundaries and the bottom line is that you have to look out for yourself.

blah blah blah, yadda yadda yadda...

I say, let the cops do their thing and concentrate on removing that 2am last call for serving alcohol, or at least pushing it to 4-5am...

I'm not saying that Tiesto never did drugs. I'm just very very reluctant to believe that he was high WHILE he was recording magik 6 and/or 7.

fair enough, i might be mistaken about the actual event. Although, i am sure it was a large party, and he actually dropped a massive set, at the end of which he was at tears...and during the course of which, he was high on E.
