I've never had the luck to check the Axis-2 CD players, but I haven't heard too much possitive reviews about it. The laser that's inside the CD player is VERY sensitive to scratches in the disks and it has a funny CUE point system too. (So I've heard) You can only set CUE points when a track is playing.
Oh and forget about the BPM counters, they will only decive you :p |

why??? If you want to get into spinnin' you can find a used pair of sl-1200mk2s for that price and believe me, they're gonna outlast those cd players.
If your heart is set on getting some cd decks, then check out the pioneer dmp-555. It's a reciently discontinued deck that plays cds, mp3 cds, SD cards, and has a built in sampler. This deck usually sells for $1100 but since it was released around the same time as the cdj-1000, and wasn't pushed on the market as much as the cdj-1000, it really didn't get too much fame. Therefore, it's either discontinued or getting major price cuts and you can find one at guitar center for $300 ea (if the ad was right. |

| i wouldnt get it... its best to start with vinyl, or at least very good cd players (dns5000 or cdj 1000) |

| the mixer is allright. ive spun on it once before and it was decent. a little "plasticy" feel but not bad to start with. i do recomend vinyl over CDs though. |

Im basically set on cd, cant give up my collection and spend thousands just to buy records. Cds are being more widely used now i observe. But im so confused on what to get right now though. I just something need something good, plays cdr, bpm counter would be good but not necessary.
Also how bad is it if it doesnt have anti shock. I mean, what kind of vibration, bang does it take to skip? |

| well if youre set on cds, but you dont want to get the really expensive ones. I would suggest the denon dns-3000, or the pioneer cdj-800. Im not sure what youre looking for...if you just want to get started with a bedroom setup those axis 2's might not be TOO bad...see pioneer cdj100's as well. (even though there are better players for the price of a 100, but the 100's are known to be solid) |
