Whether or not it's my place to comment on this topic, I'm going to anyway...
Whatever happened to the idea of trancEaddict being a music site??? I see everyone ranting and raving and freaking out over this whole VIP thing because there are too many "useless" posts in the chill-out room.
Who cares? That's why it's called a chill-out room!!!
90% of the time that I'm in these forums, I'm in the music discussion section. Why? Because I'm here to discuss trance music. That's the point of these forums... or so I thought. Who cares about stupid threads in the chill-out room? Ignore them. Like it says, "Talk about what's on your mind"... so what if people have stupid things on their minds? Let them be... unless someone is causing harm, everyone and anyone should be free to express themselves however they deem fit. I believe that having a VIP section promotes elitism in these forums... something which is supposed to not be welcome here. There could be someone out there that contributes just as much as a VIP, but does not get recognized as such... He or she will get the impression that he or she is not really a significant member of these forums, and will not bother coming to the site again. We have to make up our minds here... either we accept elitism in these forums or we don't... and having a VIP section promotes elitism in every sense of the word.
I think everyone needs to be reminded that our focus is on trance music and not this he said/she said BS...

creating an elitist atmosphere was not the point in creating the VIP bit of the site. It was supposed to show all the people that act childishly/make stupid threads that have no relevence to anything/flame at the first given opportunity that sensible conversation can be had without flames, without uselessness and without childishness. I used to love these forums for the discussion. unfortunatly its now nowhere near as good as it used to be, but hey, u dont want to listen to us old timers moaning about our beloved trancEaddict being dragged to the bottom of the world wide web.
So discuss the music, if u can find a good thread to do it in. |

i agree totally... even though i'm not really one of the old-timers
but some of the threads floating around when i first signed up were awesome, now they're all just a bunch of flame wars |
