I use the Sensor Excel by Gillette. Normally, the Excel only is a two-blade system, but I use the CVS/Rite Aid brand three-blade refills. As for shaving cream, I use the Nivea sensitive skin shaving gel and my aftershave is the Nivea sensitive skin balm respectively. Actually, I use my aftershave as a facial moisturizor for my entire face. The Nivea stuff works well for dry skin and redness.
When I started shaving, I used an electric razor. Once my facial hair started coming in more heavily, the electric razor started to really hurt my face so I can't recommend them unless your facial hair is not thick. About a year ago, I made the switch to a "real" razor and have never looked back. Blade razors seem to give me a more accurate and close shave and works so much better to cut out facial hair such as sideburns, like I have. I haven't had nearly as much irritation since I switched.
I suggest shaving with nice, steamy water and plenty of cream if you have irritation. Also, don't shave against the grain and never shave an area more than twice. These seem to work very well for me, although my acne makes things a bit more difficult. |

i use electrical, its a Phillips. I want to use the blades though.
Most of the time i have to go over an area multiple times and against the grain too. I have having to go over my skin multiple times. Does this happen with the blades?

Pan-Oxy (with benzoyl peroxide) for remove oil.
Visine (lol) for redness ;) |

DO NOT get an electric shaver if you have sensitive skin or you have an acne problem. It irritates your face, trust me, i have used one for about 3 years, but have changed to the good old fashioned razor recently. |
I'm coming off of an acne problem, and I use an electric shaver. I don't have any irritation. |

I don't user aftershave, that causes more irritation. Also, if you shave in the shower, you'll get better results. Get one of those anti-fog mirrors, and shave in the shower if you can. For moisturizer I use Gilletes new facial moisturizer for men. |

I used to get a similar problem.
This is the thing, facial hair has a roughness almost equal to steel wool when it is short.
This is what you do.
Get those old fashioned shaving cream brushes, whip the shaving cream with it. Then apply it and leave it on for about 2 minutes. Then shave, you'll see. Most guys hit problems with shaving cuz they put the cream and shave right away. But doing it this way you will not have to do one area more than once. |

I used some ty Gillette but when I turned 18 I got a Mach 3 in the mail (still figuring out how that happened) and been using that, works really well. As for shaving cream, I use Nivea, I don't know if thats a Dutch brand or international, but works ok.
I only shave like once a week though, I hate shaving. |

| Yeah pretty much everyone who has to shave, hates shaving. I have some friends who are in their early 20s, who barely have to shave. Or if they do, maybe once every week and a half or two. Its crazy. |

I use a Gillette Mach 3 and use Gillette Foam. The one for sensitive skin I think...
I don't use the gel one though. Not sure why. I always seem to go through them at the same pace and they only ever last as long as each other. So I go for the cheaper foam option.
I also put on Nivea for Men After Shave Balm cos it cools and smells nice. The missus loves it! |
