Tune in at www.risefm.com tonight for my weekly broadcast. From 8 until 9, I’ll be providing a review of some of the finest entries in my weekly chart as well as selecting my future classic tune. This week features tunes and remixes from the likes of Ambia, Will Holland and John O’Callaghan and labels such as Platipus, Discover and Dedicated as well as a host of brand new tunes from numerous unsigned up and coming artists.
Then from 9 until 10 I’ll be handing over to Les Hemstock who will be providing a truly pumping and energetic mix for part two of the show.
For the uninitiated, Les Hemstock is the only UK DJ and Producer to collaborate with trance god Paul Van Dyk, the results of which created the Top 20 hit ‘Nothing But You’. Alongside his partner Chris Jennings, they are one of the most revered and successful trance producers in Britain. Their productions are played by the worlds top DJ's including Tiesto, Armin, Ferry, Ornadel, Gielen - the list is truly endless!
After joining forces a few years ago, Hemstock & Jennings had a string of massive anthems as ‘Sagitaire’, ‘Merge’ and ‘Hemstock & Jennings’, lining the UK’s record shops, resulting in them being one of the most in demand remix and production teams in the UK. Les has remixed for the likes of Ian Van Dahl, Warp Brothers and Joshua Ryan, but without a doubt his winning collaboration with PAUL VAN DYK is to date, the highlight of his career. Their record ‘Nothing But You’ sold tens of thousands worldwide and reached number 14 in the UK top 40!
As an international DJ, Les has entertained crowds all around the world. Whether it be playing in front of 15,000 clubbers at the Impulz festival in Holland, rocking the BBC Radio one soundstage in Ibiza or touring Asia with Gatecrasher. In England Les regularly appears at all the major trance clubs including Slinky, Goodgreef, Promise, Escape and Frisky.
Recent Hemstock and Jennings productions include “Reverance”, recently signed to Mondo Records and “Magenta” which was featured on the recent Gatecrasher compilation. Not only did Armin van Buuren make Reverance his radio shows tune of the week, but world number one DJ, Tiesto, used it to open just about all of his live gigs, including his set in Passion’s Blue Room last year!
