Also...you can play regular CD's :)

I transfer to my iPod 20 gigs in 8 minutes. As opposed to burning a CD which would take just about as long for a 800 meg CD.

Time to transfer shouldn't be a reason, It's all about personal preference. IF you want to play CD's and lug around a bunch of CD's then get the mp3 CD player. If you want all those CD's and live sets and whatnot right at your fingertips, then get the portable MP3 player. The iPod is VERY easy to use and fast.

I have an IRiver IFP0-195T. It's sort of spendy as far as RAM-driven players go, but it's 512MB, plays MP3/WMA, is great on batteries, and is about as small as MP3 players get. I'd reccomend it to anyone. I've had it for about eight months, and love it to death. Coupled with my Grado SR80 headphones (which I'd also suggest buying for PC and/or portable music), you can't beat it for the price.

Except for the whole thing about it being a hard drive. Which dies. And the batteries. Which die. And the fact that it skips like hell if you try to do any kind of sport/exercise while wearing it.

Otherwise, yeah. They own.

have you ever heard an iPod skip? No, end of story. Battery, which is rechargable.

40 dollars extended coverage takes away the hard drive "issues" and the battery "issues"

Your post is extremely uneducated. nobody listen to what he just said.

I've been through two IPods, to date.

Trust me... I know what I'm talking about.

Why the should you have to pay $40 for extended coverage? IRiver guarantees their . Period. And it doesn't break. Ever.

I've got one of those also. Sound quality is good, holds lots of music and is a nice overall player. Price recently dropped from $458 to $398 at canada computers.

I was just going to recommend the iHP-120.
