I have been listening to an all dance radio station here in Arizona for some time now, and I have noticed that there are so many "artists" coming out with nothing but cover tunes of 80's jams, and trying to put a dance spin on them! I think that if one is going to make music, they should keep the RIPPING OFF of other talent to a minimum. I mean come on!There are TWO versions of "Boys of Summer" for crying out loud!

Of course, all of this is just my opinion...... I think I'll just start listening to my CD's again while I am in the car! LOL Forget the friggin' radio!

Come jam with me!!!!

I think it's more that most producers and deejays have ditched innovation and uniqueness for the same sound as others and making more money. It's sad because a lot of the people making the crap have the talent and can make unique music but they rather have more $$$$$$

A few remakes here and there are fun -- a whole shedload of them quickly becomes a logistical nightmare. It's a vicious cycle. The clonetrancers must be stopped, for the sake of the galactic electronic music empire!

The Ataris' cover of Boys of Summer is very good, actually.

The 80's were fun, but still, shouldn't be covered.

When do you plan to deploy the deathstar then?

Glad you asked!

Well since I'm one of the Rebels (actually, I'm not a rebel in the strictest sense -- just going against the grain), I'd have to be the one to fight the ones who are going to deploy the Death Star.

It'll be a showdown involving the Techno Jedi. Yoda rocks on a synth.
