removing parts of tracks

is there a program you can download that can allow you to trim time off of tracks that you dont want? Some songs i have have like a 2 minuet "slowdown" period before the track ends. I would like to shorten that up.

Sound Forge, costs $400 or so though. It'll do the trick though. Maybe their website has a trial or something.

There are many programs out there which you can use to cut and splice mp3s or various other types of audio and video files. PM me if you have any questions.

nice. thanks. I edited the mp3 but i cant seem to figure out how to save it as an mp3 file. It wants me to save it as something else.

Yep, it's very easy to do itw ith Nero.

Just use "Nero Wave Editor" or whatever its called, the program that comes bundled with Nero.

ok i figured out how to edit the track like i want. And i figured out how to save it. Is there a way to take like a 10 second cut from another song and join it with another song? Thanks.

well there is HJsplit, which lets you joing fragments, but those fragments have to be in some weird ass format so I don't think you can just do as you please with it, but I might be wrong

You just need to rename the *.mp3 to whatever format HjSplit uses. At least I think so, it's been ages since I last tried it so I'm not 100% sure.
