When i asked my cousin why he got a Bmw, everyone has one, he replied " Its my Bmw". Kids got the money and an oppurtunity to have a car not 99% of the population would love to have.
Penguin Its a BMW!!! go for it dude. Dont think twice.

P.S.
Try to get some more outta this if you can talk to your parents. Nissan Skylines are now available in the states but they'll go for atleast $70,000 lol

i'd tell my parents that i'd work hard for a year if they got me a C32, or something not so common like a 325.

hahah if i could milk another 40 grand outta my parents id get an m5 =P seriously i just like bmws and ive always loved the m5...never really liked the m3 much but god the m5 is ing nice!! and for only 70k its a damn good car. navigation system with lcd comes with ing everything. the s600 is like what 125k? and its a sluggish boat sized piece of ! nto to mention way overpriced. i think bmws are a much better car for the money than mercedes or lexus.

ive heard...that in like 2003 or soemthing later maybe 2004 the current v8 in the m5 is going to go into the m3 and the m5 is gonna get a v12...if its true those are gonna be soem ing fast cars...all with the same price

penguin, i hope you enjoy your "luxury," cuz that 325 isn't fast at all.

If, as apparently is the case with you, I had no commitment to earning my own way and my parents strangely enough supported that mentality, I would definitely get me the 3rd gen RX-7. For 30 grand you'd have an 11-second behemoth that would make any beamer owner jealous of in every aspect.

If you want EXCLUSIVITY ... don't buy a BMW. I always laugh at people driving a BMW 325i. They bought the cheapest BMW, just to say they have one. If fact, most owners will tell you it's a V6. Ha ha ha. Don't even getting me started on the lame BMW 318ti. Sad if you ask me.

If you are looking for REAL performance for under 30k, the obvious choice is a '93-'98 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo. Now that's exclusive. Stock it runs 0-60 in 5.0sec and 1/4 mile in 13.5sec. With about 5-8k of mods I have seen them put 700 RWHP to the ground. I have personally seen several run below 11sec will full interior and street tires. The best part is that the internals of the 2JZ-GTE require no modification to hold 20+ PSI of boost. Turbocharger (dual to largee single) and fuel sysetm modifications will suffice.

I am wasting my time. Most people will take the easy, and less rewarding, path and purchase a new car.

Brownitis: 11 sec 3rd gen RX-7? Not stock, I hope! I wouldn't put that much effort into a rotary (Wankel) engine, unless it was a 20B, the triple rotor wankel from the Mazda Cosmos. Also, the electrical systems on 2nd and 3rd gen RX-7s are diabolical, they're not nearly as cheap and don't have as much potential as the Mk IV Supras.

Hmmmmm.....so what do you do with a car that makes the 1/4 mile in 13.5 seconds in a country that only allows you to dirve a max speed of 88 km/h...:p

That`s why the Autobahn in Germany simply ROCKS!!:D

BTW: If you say that a BMW doesn`t have anything exclusive and then recommend a Japanese car.....enough said!

No the M5 is going to get a V10 together with the M6 which will come out somewhere around 2003 or 2004!

its absolutely false...

you can buy a 316 from this year... or a 320, 325, 330... the first is the series ID (serie 3) and the two lasts numbers are a motor characteristics (316 -> 1,6 L 325 -> 2,5 L and 750 - serie 7, 5L)

my parents have a 750iL, and before a 540 (4 Liter)
