Robert Miles?

Does he ever do live sets or stick to production work? Just been listening to Dreamland and Children, Fable etc just get to me each time. I know the 23am got released too but that was years back, shame he hasn't moved with the times because he could have been big for a lot longer.

Also use this thread for any other guys and gals in EDM who seemed to have disappeared into audio wilderness....or perhaps DJs and producers you wish would piss off into the audio wilderness!

What about DJ Jean? :D

Robert Miles went to a whole another direction some years after Dreamland and 23am's more trancy & ambience atmospheres. In 2001 he released his 3rd album "Organik". It's a combination of down-tempo experimental, industrial, ambient and whatever etnoesque sounds... has lots of live instruments played by well known (in that area) Indian artists. It's a very experimental even too experimental for my likings. I never bought it after listenin it through once in the record store when it came out..

Then again the "Organik Remixes" album released in 2002 had a few nice mixes but even that wasn't good enough for me to purchase it. I don't blame him for going further away from the more commercial EDM scene tho into exploring of new sounds and enviroments, he just wanted to try something else instead. It can't be selling out as the style of "Organik" wasn't too commercial, appealing to the big masses but only for a very few ppl in the area of that scene.

I could name many artists and/or DJs i would want to call it a day but i'll rather let others to do that.

Well put, GrimReaper. :)

Let's just say the ugliness of the business side of the "music business" got to Roberto and this is part of why he did why he did.

On a related note: in my delusions, I'm still waiting for Yellow Magic Orchestra to reform!
