Alright so, i used to have a cheap pair of Acoustic Authority speakers, and like all cheap speakers they broke! So im looking for some more, better speakers.

I was wondering what pair of speakers would you most recomend, i am looking for a 3 piece set, and not top of the line but about mid range cause i don't have tons of money.
Anda also what do you think of these speakers From Tiger Direct
Thanks,

Logitech makes some real nice sounding sub/satellite speakers.

First tho, you should also consider getting a decent soundcard if you dont have one! The card often makes more of a difference than the speakers (unless they are really really expensive)

Logitech hands down is best bang for the buck. Hell for $49 from Newegg you can get this 5.1 set!

I have a pretty good sound card, just the speakers died like, they don't work anymore...on anything! and the cable just got ed over by my dog! lol, and i really want just a set of 3 cause i have very limited space and only enough room for one on each side of my screen and a sub below my desk!

any more suggestions, and what do you think of the speakers from tiger direct?

I'd get this pair of altec lansing speakers..a friend of mine bought them, its very good quality for the price. the bass is very clean and fits the beat etc..

They're cheap on newegg.com..about $65!

i have those. those are awesome, except i only have two speakers and that sub. logitech is definately the best for the buck. i completely agree to that.

I hate these threads, because people always have to go and give ass-end opinions.

1. He said he wants a three-piece system. Why reccomend 5.1?

2. The Logitech z-560 has no center channel. It sounds weird. It's loud, yes, but it's also harder than hell to arrange so that it doesn't sound awkward.

3. The Logitech z-640 is cheap for a reason. The speakers are tiny. The subwoofer is way too powerful for them. It makes your computer sound like a ricer.

4. Altec Lansing makes solid speakers, but their subwoofers lack.

With all that said, you need to go out and buy the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 system. NOT the new one that's out with the goofy looking cages on the fronts and . The old, plain, '01-02 black edition. 200W RMS. 100W in the sub, and 50W each in the speakers. You want loud? You want clear? You want versatile and sleek? Get those. $150.

If you spring for anything less, you'll likely end up disappointed. There are VERY few good 2.1 systems out there for computers.

EDIT: Or, you could say, "Screw you," to speakers and buy a pair of Grado SR80s to use on your PC. You'll never want to go back to speakers again. I have Logitech z-5300s, and doubt that I will be using them again anytime soon, because my SR80s just got here today.

Thanks for linking to them. Those are the 2.1 Klipsch that I was talking about.

Sorry for my ass-end answer but if you read what i said:

"Logitech hands down is best bang for the buck. Hell for $49 from Newegg you can get this 5.1 set!"

I said logitech is the best bang for buck. that means their high end systems in general. the 5.1 shows what you CAN get for the price range to show how good a value, not saying he should go get the 5.1. the dude is on a budget, hes not going to get a klipsch system, does that qualify in the ass-end answers you mentioned? god can't give an opinion without someone talking e-.

few reviews since my opinion doesn't mean much. If you have money then go with the Klipsch. Otherwise Altec Lansing and Logitech offer good values.

My point was that he specifically said "THREE PIECE SET". And said he was tired of "CHEAP SPEAKERS".

Not only did you reccomend the wrong set. You reccomended cheap speakers.

What the is wrong with you, coming back at me with this? You're the one who answered him without even fully reading and considering his question.

Dumbass.
