Hi All,
On recent threads i have seen the term "Super Saw" used in discussions about Trance Music. Can anyone explain.

Sure, Millsyy2k.
First, do you know what a saw wave is? Here is a definition:

Now, are you familiar with that cartoon Voltron or those Transformers ones? You remember how all the little robots turn into one big *super* one and it's so awesome?
Okay, it's the same principle here... picture a family of saw waves, joining together to form one big YUGE (in the Donald Trump sense) one. Some are shorter than others, some are taller, some are kind of wobbly -- the technical term might be "detuned" or "chorused" -- but the fact is this is a family of saw waves.
THIS is a supersaw... not just one, but many saw waves combined, played at the same time, to unleash harmonic power across many a dancefloor -- commonly associated with melodic/epic/uplifting/term-du-jour trance. The layering is as rich as an exotic chocolate cake.
Here is a demo I found. The first part of the track is one saw wave. The second part is a SUPERSAW.

i just saw his posts in the ulrich schnauss message board. i read that he was indeed autistic, and this interested me greatly. i went to his site and it was some entertaining stuff lol. the fact that your autistic and your such a big music fan is inspiring. :happy2:
