If it's not as trivial a problem as emptying your recycle bin, then the problem might be caused by Norton (if you have that installed, that is). I don't know the exact details of the problem, nor of the remedy, but it had something to do with turning off one of the options in you preferences.

But hey, if emptying the bin works, then I've said nothing.

yep Ive jus got Norton on..wht option to turn off?

So it wasn't that everything you deleted was still in your trash can?

Lemme have a look then, I'll get back to you on it. As I said, I haven't experienced it myself, only heard about the problem before. Let's see if I can find the solution again.

It has something to do with the Norton Filesaver Assistant, a tool which lets you recover deleted files easily by just not deleting them when you want to, but only marking them as deleted and keeping them on a separate place on your HD. I suggest you check the options for that Norton tool and see if you can find out what option you need to turn off / adjust (e.g., maybe you can set the maximum available HD space for this tool)..

Once more, I don't have it myself so I can't check it here. But this should help enough, otherwise, Google is just as much your friend as it was mine :)

And one final remark, this is not the right forum for this question, but whatever.

first of all how many did you delete? If you deleted like 15 and your looking at the circle graph its not gonna move at all.
