background effect in Spiral & Sunburst tracks

Does Anybody know how this noise in the background of robert nickson spiral and Sunburst - eyeball is produced? The best way i can describe it is as a springy effect/pad. Check the links below,

| The Nickson track uses a 303 with phaser + a frequency gate, the Sunburst track makes heavy use of a phaser on the hats. |

| actually taking a 2nd listen its not the hats in sunburst im after, its a similar sound like spiral in the background of sunburst im after? Maybe its the same 303 with phaser technique perhaps or something similar? Im not sure! |
