"Trance, hardtrance, breakbeat, ambient...little did the people know
who started labeling techno into subgenres what they had started.
Now we have 5557 different ways of classifying techno, the latest one
being "semi-intelligent hardbutt-snugglecore". It has been estimated
that a new subgenre is thought up every 5 seconds. If this continues,
then in 1996, every single techno track will have its very own techno
subgenre label, for example "meat-n-potato housetrance ambient butterfly
gigglebreak", "half-smart electrojungle desertfunk postcore" etc etc.
Then, PARTS of tracks will get labeled, like "Hardphase-1.61a of
bubbletummyambient acidfolk subdrumgabbertrack A". After that, individual
notes and sounds will be labeled and a standard classification system
for techno music will be presented by the ISO committee. By 2002, every
person on this planet will be busy labeling techno, so there will be no
time for wars. Peace and love! :)"
yeah.. You do that kid.
I can already imagine this slogan "LABEL TECHNO MUSIC, NOT MAKE WAR" |
