FBI Suspects Israel Has Mole in Pentagon -- CBS
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The FBI believes Israel has a spy at the very highest level of the Pentagon who may have sought to influence U.S. policy on Iran and Iraq, CBS News reported on Friday.
The Israeli embassy immediately denied the report.
"The FBI has a full-fledged espionage investigation under way and is about to ... roll up someone agents believe has been spying, not for an enemy, but for Israel, from within the office of the secretary of defense (Donald Rumsfeld)," the network reported.
CBS News said the FBI believed it had solid evidence the suspected mole supplied Israel with classified material that included secret White House deliberations on Iran.
The network described the spy as "a trusted analyst" assigned to a unit within the defense department tasked with helping develop the Pentagon's Iraq policy.
It said the analyst had ties to top Pentagon officials Paul Wolfowitz and Douglas Feith, both regarded as leading architects of the war on Iraq.
Asked about the CBS report, a spokesman for the Israeli embassy told reporters: "We categorically deny these allegations. They are completely false and outrageous."
CBS said the spy was believed to have been passing secrets to Israel through intermediaries at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a pro-Israel lobby.
"Our sources tell us that last year the suspected spy ... turned over a presidential directive on U.S. policy toward Iran while it was 'in the draft phase'," the network said.
"This put the Israelis -- according to one of our sources -- 'inside the decision-making loop' so they could 'try to influence the outcome'," CBS reported.

No doubt Iran is next. Since we are going to expand the empire. Could we at least get some cool uniforms (something like Jin-Roh) and our very own Himmler. I did enjoy his search for Atlantis O_o
Seriously I do agree with Q5echo, they could of asked especially since we have Wolfowitz evil master plan, PNAC, in action. |

| israel will prolly do everything it can to use the US to get rid of its enemies in the middle east...i wouldn't be surprised if this individual did indeed influence foreign policy (the CNN report does hint at this) in the middle east |

Lying to them? How can the US possibly lie to Israel, when you have Israeli agents like Paul Wolfowits, Elliot Abrams, David Perle all who were related to the Iran-Contra scandal influencing American foreign policy. Of course, all of whom have ties to Israel, this goes back to Henry Kissinger folks... I don't believe it is a case of our government being hijacked in the interest of a foreign country, it's more along the lines of our government selling out to the Political lobby groups such as AIPAC, and more specifically influenced by groups like Jinsa, PNAC, American Enterprise Institute.
Weather it's under Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush Sr., Clinton, George W., or John Kerry are government has a long history of Israeli informants influencing our foreign policy that will prophetically bring all "progress" ,that American's hard earned tax money pays for, domestically and internationally to a screeching halt and so begins our decline as a nation.
Compromising to the demands of a foreign body that has in no way directly contributed to or benefited our lives as Americans, but instead uses our money, and top secret intelligence to build it's nuclear warheads and uses our men and women to fight it's wars with it's neighboring countries, is destroying if not destroyed everything that our country stands for.

i like how you all just assume this is indeed true.
It goes to show the power of Israel's intelligence service. Penetrate the highest positions of the most powerful nation of the world? Sure, why not, Israel intelligence service can do it.
Whether it can or not is not the issue, the fact is everyone assumes they can.
