i'm looking to change my web hosting company,
basically, my dad's using an email address: daddy@mydomain.com for a new business he's setting up.
However, the hosting i'm using at present is really in slow.
what i want is a good fast pop3 server. and i guess some decent webspace + fast page load times etc....
any advice mucho appreciated!

if you're in canada or even anywhere in North America, check out www.canaca.ca .... very very nice deals on webspace and bandwidth per month. I'm going with the 24 month silver plan. $8/mo CDN is a bargain for me. |

Check out www.powweb.com
For $7.77 a month, you get this among other stuff:
1GB of Storage
5GB of Transfer Per Day
Myself and several friends use them. I have not been able to find a better deal anywhere else. |

I really recommend Dreamhost.
They have four plans, and I'm currently on Code Monster; 2560MB storage, 64GB monthly bandwidth, unlimited MySQL databases, 300 E-mail accounts (POP/IMAP), etc.
What I really love about Dreamhost is the down-to-earth/friendly feel they give you. The owner puts out a monthly newsletter that's not real serious, nothing like "We have upgraded our stuff. We have fixed problems. Contact us if you need us." There's plenty of humor and he takes the time to write it himself.
There are also random, free upgrades. Occasionally, you'll get an upgrade in storage space, monthly bandwidth, or something along those lines. What was really nice was earlier this year, they had a special where, if you were already on their Sweet Dreams plan (which I was), you could upgrade to their Code Monster plan and still pay what you pay for Sweet Dreams, which was really nice.

I don't own Dreamhost, but I do use them for hosting.
I don't use Outlook (I use Thunderbird), but I send and receive nice and speedy. |
