im just wondering if anybody actually buys trance cd's at the stores,
i know they're there and all but they cost like $40 bucks and i think it's a rip off even if it is a double disc, i have friends who do this and i call them stupid cause i can burn 40 discs for $40 bucks
and get all these same discs(global undergrounds, gatecrashers, magik series, etc..) and tons of livesets (which i think are the best) and save tons of cash. so if your gonna spend the money on cd's anyway why not just buy a burner it's way cheaper but nobody seems to agree with me, what the ! |

i do
personally, i dont really know anywhere that i can download an entire cd, song by song. i dont really care to have one giant mix. and 30 bucks is not that big of a deal, so i selectively buy them.
its not like there are even that many cds out that i want, most are live sets... so in that case, a burner is handy. |

i havent bought a cd in like 4 years...those prices are so n expensive, cuz they mostly are all imported... every cd ive wanted i can get ahold of on the internet sometimes even before it comes out in stores, u can even get the covers of the cd's online now.....well thats my opinion:D

Most of the CDs I buy now are pretty much not opened, since i collect them now. I have all of Tiesto's CDs in wrap still since I downloaded them ages ago.
I try to buy stuff that I can't get or I want to have the original CD. This and I fell better supporting the DJs. I do agree that CDs are way too over priced now a days. But since most of the ones I want are ususally imports I understand the cost. Like I have two copies of Cream Anthems 97, since it is one of the stepping stones of US trance. But the first one cost $25, then the second one cost after 6 years $50, go figure. It's worth it for some CDs. Just depends on how much i like the style.
Most of my decisions are from people I heard here in TA. Some Us peeps I appreciate their opinions. So support your US DJs, they might have another CD out becuase of you.

if you want to download just single songs for an album a good search engine is audiogalaxy, it has tons of tracks i just got way out west's new album, and dj tiesto's first solo production album, and if you like live sets but don't like listening for 45 mins just to hear one song there's software you can get to split tracks up from the full mix but will still let you hear it flow as it mixes from track to track, i have this on my cd creator. |

I buy lots of CD's... but I am very selective of what I buy, but I do it to give the support to the artists who make them... sure I download tons of mixes and a few hard-to-find cds off the net, but if I really respect a DJ, I BUY his CD to give them the props they deserve... Imports are usually more expensive (around 20-30 bux) but it's worth it if it's a good CD...sometimes you get ripped off cause the CD will suck, but I've come to have a very good eye for the good and the bad....
Current TOP CD choices:
1. Dave Ralph - Naturalized (2CD)
2. MOS Ibiza Annual 2001 (2CD)
3. Tidy Girls Annual - Lisa Lashes & Anne Savage (2CD)
4. Armin Van Buuren - In Motion 003
5. Dave Aude' - Nocturnal Wonderland

I buy all my Trance CD's because I have a huge amount of respect to the artist and even if I download some of his mp3's
i'm still gonna buy his CD because that's what he do for living!! |

I'll buy a CD - I already have quite a collection....I also have about 10 gb of MP3's. Some of the MP3's I have are also on my purchased CD's. Most of my MP3's are tunes that I can't even begin to find on CD's. Here is an interesting survey I read on homeofmusic.com: the question is how much would you be willing to pay for 1 MP3? I selected the $1 per MP3 option. (If I were an artist I'd want something for my work). I have to say that I was surprised to see that an overwhelming number of people (I believe around 90%) said they didn't want to pay anything to download an MP3. :eyes: |

I buy cds if I think an artist is worth supporting, AND because they sound better than mp3s. Its not a big difference, but I get pissed off with ty mp3s and sometimes thats all you find cause theres only like one copy floating around out there. late/ |
