Massive breaking news has surfaced from the Ice Meta_club that will change the face of the nightclub in a major way. The Eye has learned that earlier today the Federal Bureau of Investigations took over the free standing nightclub in the first stage of a massive investigation into money laundering. The story as The Eye hears it, is that majority owner Greg Neely noticed some discrepancies in the bookkeeping which led to today's events. The fallout of the investigation has resulted in the termination or resignation of the ENTIRE management team at Ice. We have heard that the only person in a senior position to stay on with the club will be the popular Marc Jay. Staffers say rumors have circulated the club for sometime involving dufflebags going out the backdoor. Another staffer gave The Eye a reputed number of $25,000 being skimmed a month for the last year and told us they had seen doorclicks being turned back hundreds at a time (at $20 in cover per person). We have also learned that indictments have been handed down by the FBI although no one involved has yet been handcuffed. Although most of the management team is gone it seems that the line level employees and the 4 VIP hosts will remain on property unscathed.
Rumors have been confirmed that the recently departed Derek Silberstein will be returning as the General Manager of the nightclub. Also local Vegas music scene trendsetter, Michael Fuller, will be returning to Ice in a significant position. Bringing back both individuals will go along way in recreating relationships with the industry locals that have been lacking over the past year. This story simply keeps getting bigger. The producers of the reality TV show 'The Club' have had camera crews present for the entire situation. Talk about must see TV! A spokesman for Spike TV, which is producing the show, commented that the "the show will have an entirely new cast of characters".
A press release issued earlier today from the PR firm PR Plus hinted that something big was going on. The e-mail announced a partnership with Godskitchen, the worlds largest party promotional company. The release, which quoted Godskitchen president Neil Moffitt, stated "By setting up a new operational team at ICE, we will be able to implement and utilize our contacts to give ICE both a face in the international market and bring the international arena to ICE in Las Vegas. Understandably, the structure in the clubs upper operational management had to be reviewed and we have now brought in a new team from Las Vegas, who we believe will have the respect of the staff and the locals; as well as breathe a fresh lease of life into the club". We are not doubting that Ice has been in conversations with Godskitchen but it sure seems that today's events sped up the discussions. Stay tuned as there definitely will be more to come....and as always remember where you heard it first! |

Note it appears only club management was involved. Says right there the low level employees are unaffected. Anyhow, that management is out and it appears the new team is more experience and just flat out better. And they are cranking up their partnership with Spundae / Godskitchen North America.
I wouldn't avoid Ice because of this...it won't have any affect on you. |
