Qualcomm develops 6MP cell phone camera chipset!

The rest of the hardware isn't ready yet, but they've already got a 6-megapixel chipset for camera cell phones laying around. To give you an idea of just how high-end that is, most consumer digital cameras don't even go up that high, and my new 500-dollar phone is only around 0.1 megapixel. That's unbelievable! Gives you a little taste of what's to come though. Man, i can't wait til this thing comes out! The camera in my cell is steadily making it's way towards being my favorite piece of tech ever. Once i get around to uploading some pics to my PC, you guys are gonna know why :haha: |

i guess somebody beat me to this.
the fact of the matter remains, the average person does not need 6MP, nor do they even need 5MP, let alone the 3 that is in the 'average' digi cam now days.
plus, the lenses are just too small on phones, to provide any kinds of spectacular shots. Its just physics, not enough light can get in to be effective.
I wish they would quit trying fit in more MP, and try and fit in a bigger lense, that would make much more sense. |

well it is still better to have 6mp than 0.1mp... it kinda makes more sense to put a better lense to the camera then... |
