im waiting for diginut's five page rebuttle criticizing everyone in here for not being informed and somehow quoting the 9/11 report. ;) :D (joke!)

ya i don't know who id vote in this election. Bush is retarded, and while the next best thing is kerry i dont think he's made one firm stand since his campaign started. I dont know who ralf nader is but im sure hes better than those two. Go for it.

But i do agree women should not be allowed to kill babies. that should certainly be illegal.

Go to the consulate on University - that is where I did it last time. All of us Yank TAs should go vote together! ;)

I was going to vote for Bush (keep the comments to a mature level).

I don't think I can after tonights convention comments regarding the uber-social-conservative platform on:

an absolute ban on abortion (IMO a woman's health is her choice)

a constitutional ban on gay marriage and civil union (it doesn't effect me, so BIG DEAL! {not})

I support the war on terror, I support the liberation of Iraq - but I can't support this neo-con social platform.

Unfortunately I can't vote, despite spending my formative years in the US. But if I could I would certainly not vote for Bush. I agree with you, RJ, that Kerry is soft as pudding on most issues, and I would certainly not vote *for* him - but I think Bush needs to be gone. Not only for the reasons you note, but for the utter lack of integrity shown in his administration.

The biggest issue for me being the stunningly incompetent management of the economy. The Republicans neo-cons seem to think that spouting off about hard-nosed economic ideas is all they need to do, despite a record of pursuing policies 180 degrees counter to their public messaging. Throw in the pseudo-religious socially conservative pandering, the unjustified curtailing of individual freedoms and the fact that they clearly had no strategy for managing the consequences of conquering Iraq (leading one to think they didn't really care...), and W has been a disaster. For everyone except his political base, that is.

I'm in the process of applying for my EU passport too.

In regards to the topic, the US is pretty much screwed. After reading about both of these candidates, I found it hard to believe that these two individuals were the best the US could come up with for their leaders.

There are sad days ahead for our neighbors in the south.
