Disappointed - that's the only word that can describe my feelings. I've been anticipating this album ever since "Deep down below" was released last year. Considering the previous albums "Widescreen" (excellent) & "This world is yours" (even better), this album is a major let-down. All the up-tempo melodic tracks are gone, and instead repitive break-beat tracks are everywhere. Argh!
Best track is "Deep down below" and that track doesn't hold a candle to the likes of "Redemption", "Spring", "Break the silence", "Love is an ocean" and at least five other tracks from the first two albums. "Horizon" - which is a very mediocre track - actually manages to come in third only beaten in the slightest by "Wonders of life".
At first I thought something was wrong with my ears and that I might feel better today, but now I've heard the album three times (interleaved by other music to test the ear-theory) and it still is no way as good as the other two :(
For the first time the accompanying credits list Farid Gharadjedaghi first and Rolf Maier-Bode second - I fear that RMB tried to go in new directions with this album - too bad that some fans where lost in the transition... |
