Here are a bunch of tracks which you'll be able to find the similarities in quickly:
Green Atlas - Circulation
Darren Tate vs. Jono Grant - Nocturnal Creatures
Afterburn - Winter Sun
Agnelli & Nelson - Hudson Street (New York Mix)
Ernst & Ben - Provider (Pulser Remix)
DJ Ernesto - Stop 9.5
Warrior - X
Jurgen Vries - The Theme
Jurgen Vries - Wilderness
Miachel Woods - Solex
Epic Trance is mostly nothing but ripoffs. |
It's one thing to have similar style and melody pattern but when you copy a melody almost note by note it's a whole another thing.
None of those songs you mention are complete ripoffs, just similar sounding. |

Seconded. Play Xpander on top of Why and I have money that you could almost do a flange. |

No. Lolo - Why is no more a ripoff of Xpander than Airwave is of Out of the blue. Minor key changes, same supersaw. Here are some more ripoffs, these even more obvious:
Solid Sleep - Club Attack
Dito - Sky
Klubbingman - Welcome to the club
Skysurfer - Colors
Happens all the time. |

The leads are completely different as well as the chord progression in Airwave & OOTB.
The leads and chord progression are almost identical in Xpander & Why.
Like I said, similarities in sound don't count as a ripoff. Nearly identical melody and chord progression does. |

And how Max Graham - Airtight ripped off Airwave(the artist)(or was it vice versa), we can sweep that one under the carpet as well.
EDIT: It's Airtight that rips off Escape From Nowhere.
Or when Zombie Nation ripped off that video game track. Just look here. That's only trance.
My point is that people blow this out of proportion when it's happening all the time. Direct samples are used often and nobody cares. So why should this be any different. |

I found this tune very boring...it seems like it never goes anywhere.
Just another cheesey prog track in my opinion. |
