| Man these people just don't get it... Armand Van Helden got booed for spinning hip hop in the good old days, you'd think the hip hop community would learn from that. |

| Hmm I'm actually quite surprised cause hip hop is kinda big in the UK...maybe the organizers and the promoters of the party just don't know what they are doing :haha: :stongue: Although it is funny I feel really bad for him cause no matter how much he sucks I hate seeing such attitude towards any performer no matter how "big" he is. As a dj that knows how nerve wrecking it can be to get in front of a crowd - hearing such things from the crowd can really be HARSH! Not that it ever happened to me personally but I know how I'd feel if it did. |

the P Diddy and 50 Cent kind of hip hop? or maybe it's just GOOD hip hop that is popular in the U.K.?
someone should post a poll in the UK Forum to find out what they think of these recent boo fests :D
can you imagine what that experience must be like for some of these guys? They are WORSHIPPED wherever they go (their "people" generally minimize exposure to anyone who doesn't love them, right?). So imagine how it must up their ego when they end up getting booed off the stage :stongue: |

as big as hip hop is, the reading festival is predominantly a rock festival.
it's like the annoying DnB tent you get at global gathering, attracts all this wankers, the people who go to the trance/hard dance/funky/prog/techno/breakbeat tents seem capable of cohabiting an event, but the dodgy wankers in the DnB tent were shyte :whip: |

I'd laugh more but this sounds mean-spirited and cruel and I'm thankful no greater harm came to anyone -- 50 Cent and entourage or any of the audience -- because of tossing bottles (were any of them glass?). Such a situation can get out of hand and lead to riots, and that kind of negative energy really ruins things for everyone. 50 Cent's persona and his music isn't my cup of tea, but I'd hate to see anyone's fave artist mistreated... hope promotion didn't mix up by booking the wrong artist for the wrong crowd.
I'd like to think that humans could get along better despite of tastes in music and agree to disagree firmly but politely. After all, isn't music supposed to be a sign of an advanced civilization? :( |

heh my mate was at leeds right in the middle of it throwing cups lol! (btw they were only plastic cups no glasses were allowed in) hip hop n rnb are huge in the uk. our charts are overun with the and no its not good hip hop its the wank on toast every1 gets, Jay Z, J-Kwon, Usher, D12 etc plus we get all the uk artists aswell :(
anyways serves em right for booking 50ty for a rock concert, wot did they expect?? The streets and Goldie Lookin Chain are different enough to get away with being there but not the crack pimp, he can off home. |

Did anyone mention the fact that 50 cent wasn't the only performer booed off the stage?

if i was out to see a Trance DJ and a rock band came on, id boo them too! its just the wrong venue.
and that BS about the promoter blaming 50 for bringin in 'the wrong crowd' : stupid.
Yeah its 50's fault that a bunch or morons started fighting and he wasnt even there!
