Speakers...Yamaha or Cerwin Vega (15")

I can't decide between the 2...I don't need massive amounts of bass or sound, they're just for house parties. Yamaha has more power handling which = greater volume..but the vegas have a greater sound range (great highs). Anyone here used either and have an opinion on them...I'd love the advice...and thanks.

I would take the CV's... they have much better sound quality!! and about the power, if it's just for home partys, then you don't need to worry.. the CV's are strong enough.

yeah, go with the Cerwins. They r really nice speakers, I dont know the specific ones u r gonna use, but they r nice. If only they had more bass in their subs....

BTW r u running with an external EQ or Crossover?

CV....sound quality.....

CV....sound quality....

A new set of japanese speakers....sound quality...

more wattage....extra volume.....

There's something I'm not getting here.....

None of these things relate with each other. :)

Instead of asking about this thing HERE, I would suggest you go somewhere where people are very much more obsessed with getting good bang-for-your-buck speakers...

www.avsforum.com

Now, some misconceptions of you all.... Now, these CV's? They aren't really GOOD speakers. They have exaggerated bass, and they CAN thump, but, YES, you *can* get good speakers (ie, ones that are more accurate in other places) and still be able to thump. ESPECIALLY for home use. You can still have exaggerated, impacting bass, just like you want. But you can get more than that... And remember, it isn't WATTS that means loudness, it is LOUDNESS that equals loudness... and who cares how it gets there? It can get there with efficiency (where fewer watts go further), or it can get there with plain wattage...but who cares? All you need to find is something that works for the size ant type of room you want (figure out the size), and in the application. You are going to want it to get to ear-damaging levels without distorting, right? You want exaggerated bass, right? You can get that. Ever heard of Klipsch speakers? you can get BASS on those...heheh. And there are MANY other speakers you can use.

Just go there, and ask for help..but say a few things, so they can help you better. What are you going to be plugging them into? How big is the room going to be? What is your maximum budget? DO you want them to have exaggerated bass and be able to get to ear-damaging levels?

SO, basically, go there, and give that type of info....you can get stuff *way* better than CV's...
