Mr White: "I don't tip because society says I gotta. I tip when somebody deserves a tip. When somebody really puts forth an effort, they deserve a little something extra. But this tipping automatically, that 's for the birds. As far as I'm concerned, they're just doin' their job."
Mr Blue: "Our girl was nice."
Mr White: "Our girl was okay. She didn't do anything special."
Mr Blonde: "What's something special, take ya in the kitchen and suck your dick?"

There are just some people that you HAVE to tip. Its like part of their pay. These include: Waiters, Deliverererers, hairdressers, those lobby guys ETC.
If youre a cheap greedy bastard, and refuse to help out other people in any way, then at least take into consideration that women hate guys that dont tip. |

Yeah, apparently the cost of living in the UK is higher than anywhere else in the world except Japan, where its just ridiculous.
Anyway, my curry was lovely :) |

I'm glad tipping isn't "mandatory" or expected where i live. I think that you can tip people for really good service, not just for the sake of it. |

I tipped the pizza guy 5$ for a 13$ pizza tonight. But I forgot to tip him last time, this time he looked really happy.

Only tip a waitress if she's fit. |

If you tip for the sake of it you are part of the problem, so knock it off. |

How is the tipping culture where you live?
- Here I've never heard of people tipping when food is delivered to their home, as the employees are already paid for this. Unless he arrives instantly or something... some people just have the money :p
- In restaurant, let's say the food costed 20 R$. You (have to) give an extra 10% (which raises the price to 22R$) as tip. I learned this lesson the hard way, the day I went into a restaurant with 9.90 R$, asked for a 9.90 R$ meal and, in the end when the waiter brought the bill, he seemed rather irate when I told him I only had the 9.90.
- An odd Brazilian thing is that, in parking lots, some guys ask to "watch" your car (sometimes they also clean it, and do other services). Here in Brasßlia, I usually give them 10 centavos when they're nice (some are obnoxious bastards). In Rio though, I've been told they have a fixed price of 2/3 R$, which means that, whenever you park your car, they expect you to have the equivalent to a dollar. Not only they're lazy, but they're greedy aswell
I still think you should tip whenever the waiter/worker/car watcher deserved to be tipped. Meritocracy works in all other aspects, why open an exception on this one? |
