Obituaries - Sep. 4, 2004

NICHOLAS J. SCHUMACHER 1988 - 2004 Of Waterloo, passed away suddenly, as a result of an accident, on September 3, 2004 in his 16th year. Dearly beloved son of Alison Meunier and Dan Schumacher; loving brother of Greg. He is fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Nick was a gifted artist and attended Bluevale Collegiate. Nick has given the gift of life through organ donation. Funeral arrangements will be announced in Tuesday's edition of the Record or may be obtained by calling the Edward R. Good Funeral Home.

He was riding his skateboard off the back of a moving vehicle, fell off and hit his head. He was in the hospital all Thursday night suffering from severe head injuries, and passed away Friday morning. He was a guy I worked with, and he and I had become good friends.

I'm sorry Theresa, you sound like a great person. I would give you a hug in person, for I was planning to be in Toronto all weekend, but the hurricane has left me stranded in Florida, awaiting the impending storm and hoping for the tornadoes not to head our way, and hoping our power will last as long as possible.

Deaths are never easy to cope with, I had to deal with 5 deaths in three months when I was barely 16. From my own experience, it's better not to be around people who treat you like you are fragile (even though you are) because the over-sensitivity can get extreemly aggitating after so long. At first it's nice but then you just want everyone to shut up. Wallow for a day or two and then go running, or take a swim, just do something to exercise, and clear your head. Perhaps go to dinner with your roommate or a good friend.

Pictures are too hard to look at, so avoid those if you can. Sleep is fantastic, but don't sleep every day away because you could fall into a deep depression. Talk when you're ready and not when everyone else is prodding you on.

My condolences and a huge hug, PM me if you need to talk sweetie.

It is my firm beleif taht a good person never dies. To quote a great book I read...being dead is like being a good book stuck on the high shelf of teh libary. You're still therem, just waiting to be opened and read. And every person that you love will always exits in youe dreams.

Dont forget it.
