Gabriel & Dresden @ Avalon NYC review (pg. 2)

| I was definatly dissapointed with the crowd sat night it was horrible so many nasty people in thier i think it was an alltime low for avalon just trashy people everywhere...good set though there were many times when i just wanted to leave and they just kept droping favorites...mindcircus, as the rush comes, beachball , etc...and another thing i noticed not to take anything away from G&D i actually had a chance to meet them personally in miami in march and a private party at the National Hotel great time and they seemed very professional...but the last couple of times ive seen them in NY they get a little messy in the DJ booth i noticed them acting very sloppy sat night kinda corny in way...that just doesn't rub of well with me everybody is entitled to a good time but for those 4 hours i feel Dj have an image in protect because especially with trance Dj's most of the time all eyes are on you....wouldn't even think about stepping foot in that place again till Ferry in oct |

Well... they aren't very good DJs. If you listen to their livesets, you can see what I mean. And just look at the pictures of them... they look very laid back and lazy in the booth. Most other DJs look like they know what they're doing at least. |

I don't understand how y'all can say that. Didn't you notice that they were both working together all night? If you've been to any of their other sets, you'd remember that they usually switch off each hour, but last night they tried a new system that let them both work on the music at the same time, all night. What are your complaints with the DJing? That they look relaxed?
Anyway, I had a fabulous time. It was one of the best live sets I've heard, possibly ever. De la Guarda was amazing, such a fun show, but the crowd was boring. So it was just me and my best friend going nuts and laughing at everything. And if the guy from Avalon who took a lot of pictures of me and my best friend is here (I borrowed your girls gone wild hat at one point), PLEASE PM me because I'm really upset about my camera still being missing and I want pictures. |

that was my first time to any club, and i have to say that was probably one of the best ways to initiate myself into clubland :DDDD
they rocked me when they played jewel - injtuition (G & D Remix)... i think that song was the best one i could recall.
oh and this is like my first time posting here. i live in nyc now, i hope maybe i'll get to meet some of you. hi :D |
