I wanna thank everyone who came, contributed & helped in making this BBQ a huge success. I think we showed our American guests that we know how to party & showed them a good time. Nice large groups from Detroit, DC, NY, PA & other places, I'm sure. My only regret: forgetting to get badly-needed name tags.
All the DJ's did a great job, and its nice to showcase some fresh, up and coming talent. I wish I coulda had ALL the DJ's here spin, but we'd need a longer party for that.
*DJ Science- Thanks for filling on such short notice. In the end, it all worked out- you got your wish. ;) And thanks SO MUCH for accommodating Yinon & his production needs while he's here.
*DJ Ampz- Rare TO live appearance. Congrats, and thanks for making the long trek out.
*DJ Kurfew- cherry-popping live performance, thought u did great. Aren't u glad u didn't bail out after all?
*Gamma vs Twitch- A technical difficulty-free display of great talent. Glad u could make up for your WEMF gig. And thanks for renting the gear, Ray.
*NuEra- words can't explain how much I really enjoyed the (now) 2 times I've seen you live. Thanks for making sacrifices to be here. Keep an eye on this guy, everyone!
*DJ 24-7 vs DJ Eso- final performance b4 Rich moves away in a couple days. U guys played some wicked tunes (Saltwater!!!!), but I'm so pissed I missed the tune w/the M.I.K.E. voice sample from the phone call he made to you from my phone at WMC this yr. At least u guys got to spin an extended set, thanks to the neighbors not calling the cops on us. All the best in your endeavors, Rich! And for all those wondering, Eso may be looking for a new tag- team partner, but you have some big shoes to fill...
Thanks for all the food & drink contributions, everyone that helped in collecting the financial contributions, all those who helped in supplying the audio equipment (in the end I think we had 4 mixers here, when I thought we'd have none), and a big thanks to everyone who attended and was such good company to be around.
Big ups to Absolute Locations for the rentals of all the chairs, tables, light, keg bucket, monster grill & those 'executive' port-a-potties. (Yes, we had WICKED-NICE port-a-potties)
I also wanna thank the neighbors for not calling the cops on us once, and that little Chinese girl next door who was jamming in her window when she shoulda been sleeping (<< future Viva patron, for sure!).

I just wanted to say thank you to all the TA's in Toronto that I met at the BBQ. I was one of the Detroit peeps that came along courtesy of Nosmo aka Jay. I have some pics from the party, but I don't want to post them just yet until I know it is okay... (I know some people don't like having thier pics up for others to see).
Anyways, the music and BBQ was nice. I am a vegetarian so finding a non-meat item was fine. I had some corn on the cob (about 6 of them) LOL. The sets were tight, the beer was cold, and everyone I met was really friendly. Looks like I have a CD set to review from NuERA.
I remember meeting Natalie, Schryer(Mike), and Auntie Caroline(or was it Carolyn?). There were a host of others, but my memory is not so great with one time meets, grip and grins.
Looks like Jay wants to take me back to Toronto again, so perhaps I will see everyone again.

oh no u own detroit club scene? ok at the armin party u went to at guv u guys took a group picture..and iwas caught off guard as i was walkin in the back of u guys so i got right in that picture..and i was FOCKED my eyes were rolled back and my tongue was hanging out of my mouth...anyways i need that pic if u can find it please pass it to me..u guys took it down from the site...it was armin i think april 13th 2 years ago |

| thanks very much to nat for hosting such a fantastic gathering, it was incredible to have so many ppl there, hopefully some of the lurkers and infrequent posters will come out of the woodwork and get to know us, and thus be joining us next year! |
