i didn't hear the original. but here is my oppinion:
- kick sounds a bit weak
- bass sounds also a bit weak
- nice synths
- piano is good
- main synth is great:D
- i love the melodies
good work Jay!

Thanks guys.
Renco i heard it through my speakers just a few minutes ago. The kick (and maybe bass as well) could use some more punch/highs i guess. But there's enough low here in both kick and bass right..? Cheers anyways for listening :D |

its always cool hearing my own tracks remixed :) this is nice much more chilled and deep than my version. i do think the kick and bass lack power. the bass seems to have much too much delay or reverb or sumin, and the kick i think is very ploppy. but hey both are easy to fix. also some mid treble would suit the mix nicely. try and clean it up so it all sounds tight and crisp, less reverb, more extreme EQs, just little details which make big differences, and i would deffo try a different kick sample. really nice feel to the remix in general, could do with some tweaking thats all i think. oh wait one more thing. i dont like that distorted saw thing at all, it sounds way to dirty fo my liking, give it some tweaking :D

FX at the start reminds me of a tune from a while back that I liked, although I can't remember what it is :p
Synth coming in at after 1.00 sounds a bit too loud, dunno if thats just me.
Kick could be tighter. I like how you've tried to make the vocals a bit more subtle, but I still don't like them too much, they're just too English :p
Builds up nicely, I'm enjoying the dark edge that the original lacked.
Don't like the sound of the main synth (the one that comes in after the breakdown) too much.
Liking this part at 6:40
Didn't think 2nd build-up/breakdown was needed, but that's a personal thing. I don't usually like it when tunes do that.
I guess it's a mixed review really, but I wouldn't call it a bad tune, just not really my cup of tea... |

Hey thanx guys.
I just uploaded a better version. The bass is loads clearer and the kick has much more punch (but will it be enough..). Reverb is more controlled and some other tiny changes. I think it's a lot better (and mastered a bit louder), have a try!
About the lead coming at 4:20. I personally like this one, it's dirty indeed, I distorted the hell out of it. Sorry to tell you Mike, it's a stayer ;) :p |

Great version of this nice tune!
I really loved the sounds you used here, they sound kind of tech and that's really cool, especially those sound at the intro. I Also loved the dark atmosphere you've made, tough the melody is kind of cheerful the overall atmosphere still remains dark and mysterious and that is very cool.
What you should work on though is your final mix, sure the whole thing sounds pretty pro but I feel the mix is not full enough, there are some mid-low/low freqs missing.
Maybe try adding another layer of bass just to fill up the empty space in the mix.
Also I didn’t really like the kind of buildup part between 4:20 and about 5:00. Sounds really to empty, nothing is playing but the filtered synth just sounds awkward to me.
Nice job overall, keep it up Jay!
