For some ed up reason, whenever I try opening certain pictures which I took over in Europe in Paint Shop Pro, I get this ing message: The file "C:\bla bla bla\whatever\somewhere\123.img" does not exist or cannot be read. Please check the filename and access priviledges.

Now, this is what I've tried doing so far: checking on/off the "read-only" box in Properties, making sure the folder is shared, copying the images onto the desktop, renaming them...and thats about ing it. I dunno what else to do. About 300 pictures were taken and burnt onto CD; and close to half of those won't open in PSP (but they'll open in that sad excuse of an image-editing program called "Paint") because apparently "they don't exist"

Someone please help me out before I freak out :eyespop: :eyespop:

i would try,

  • opening in paint and resaving them as another filename
  • using photoshop, because its quite superior:D

pfft; at least PSP tells me that the file doesn't exist. Photoshop just opened a blank image and thought everything's A-OK

If it's a jpg, open it using netscape/ie/any other browser that supports jpg file.

I know it sounds awkward, but unlike photoshop, internet browsers don't need the full file in order to open it in case it's corrupted.

...but do IE/Netscape have the ability to edit the pics? Exactly ;)

If you use the Print Screen Thingy, you're half way there ;)

There's something newer than Photoshop CS 8? And gimme 3 grand and I'll happily buy myself a Mac

And from the looks of it this happens on my comp only. I sent pics to my friend and he opened them no problem in PSP.

Also, Lira, whats the point of printscreen? I can open the pictures in Paint, but that program sucks ass.

Print screen puts the pics in your memory, so just open PSP and paste it to a new file.

Well let me say first that I am *Computer Desktop Support Manager* and i get calls like this all the time.

If you need the file... Then make sure you have access rights to it. Try renaming it also try various program to open it. Paint,Kodak Editor,PS,IE,Netscape.

If you dont need it then just fukkinj delete it.

i am always careful about erroros in Windows because u never know ur box might be owned.
