i enjoyed reading your story, worded very nicely! i hope i can get a gig (unfortunately i don't own turntables, i've been mixing with software for a few years though and my mixing is coming along great, i love house, because its as easy as a mexican whore to mix. i always get these kick ass mixes lasting a good 2minutes and i'm like i guess i should really cut that last song out finally, but they blend so well when you know what you're doing. You definately have to read the crowd, and unfortunately i hate hip hip...i had a phase a year or two ago when i didn't mind it and had a few cds from friends, but thats gone now and i just like EDM...i guess it'll only work if i find the right crowd, i can't adapt to a crowd that likes music that i don't. but i guess that can be a good quality of a good dj.
ps. when will ppl realize that hip hop sux and is more repetitive then EDM (ok sorry sorry don't want to be bashed because you should be open minded and shouldn't narc on ppls personal tastes, i just look at it as ppl being brainwashed by what MTV feeds to them.) but yeh prog aight going to work for a mainstream crowd, but funky house is the , that stuff gets me up and dancing like nothing else (except a good trance record of course :D ) |

| That's awesome...I was shaking so bad when I had my first gig...and to make it worse the needle just went ALL ACROSS THE RECORD! (skidded that is) :whip: But i've learned a lot since then :p |
