I was laying in bed and a thought popped in my head. I your a Dj,Producer or anyone that works with music.
If you go to bed and listen to music does it better help you produce/mix??/
Since you are sleeping I am sure some part of your brain picks that stuff up. |

If I listen to music while i sleep, I get so many ideas that i have to write em down so i dont forget.Thats wen i get my best ideas.Sometimes i just dont sleep just to work on a song:eyespop:
Its wierd but I love getting ideas wen i'm chilled and relaxed |

Hmm... not sure I would say it benefitted my producing in any way. Your brain probably picks up tunes if you hear them while in light sleep but can't see how that would really help in the way you suggested.
There's one sleep/music related phenomenon I seem to get though and it may sound a little weird but it's fascinating nonetheless...
I've found if I go to sleep with music on (normally trance), and I get awakened by a tune I recognise or a particularly strong/powerful section of a track, whilst still in the early stages of sleep or during REM/when dreaming, the music can have a MUCH stronger effect. Sometimes I don't recognise it in the same way as I normally would (if it's a tune I know); even if I knew it really well then it would only appear familiar, I wouldn't think of the name etc. If it's a particularly strong part of the track, like a breakdown/climax then the buzz I get can be immense and send rushes all over my body... actually freakily similar to an ecstasy high (although I experienced these years before I ever took a pill), and a track I thought was previously just pretty good, becomes uber-amazing :D ... the feeling only lasts for about a minute though.
I guess logically it's similar to listening on drugs, since you're in an altered state and your mind becomes more focused on the music than it normally would be. |

| I once had a reccuring dream about certain track. Everytime I woke up tho, I couldn't remember the name. After this happening for a coupla days, i promised myself that if I had the dream again, I would wake myself up and write the name. The next morning, I checcked my piece of paper. It said "Ride the banana"................... |

| listening to music while you sleep will not help you to remember the songs or help you produce because you are in an alterted state of conciousness... |

| its actually bad for your hearing, nerves and cells inside your ear are at attention all day, if there not able to rest, then a ring in the ear can form over time |
