Apple Ipod q.

my friend has like 20 gigs of mp3's on his ipod and i'm about to do a clean format of his hdd and reinstall.
can he transfer those mp3's back to his hdd from the ipod afterwards? i know nothing about ipod's so therefore i'm asking this.

| The iPod will function as an external HD assuming all the Mac software and Firewire\USB stuff works after putting everything back together. You can even save non-music on there too. Im assuming that this is for a PC? |

| hehehe me 2 mate..and to answer the question, as others said...just make sure everything is well reinstalled and it should work fine..my friend does it quite often using is ipod to transger no mp3s data.. |

| i thought i read some where you could only upload mp3s to ipod. This was some sort of prevention to discourage sharing copyright music? |

Well Apple didn't make it easy to copy mp3s back from your iPod to your computer. But it's not impossible. There's different solutions depending on whether you're using an Apple computer or a PC.
