| my friend has recently gotten in to an accident on saturday, drunk driver crashed into her and her friend rear ended her, she says that her knee is really messed up and it's swollen, and that the doctors said she has to "drain the fluid out" does anyone know what that means? I'm very worried cause i really care about her, and i want to know if she'll be ok |

sounds just like a little jolt to the knee making it swell up - when they say they need to drain the fluid they mean they need to drain the pus and make it go down so she can move it around a little
if thats the only damage then she's lucky |

| thankx for replying , it's cause i really like this girl, we were supposed to have dinner tonight but she never showed up to class. to me she's everything i could ever look for in a girl , just hopes she feels the same way about me |

| It's called Arthrocentesis. It's not that big of a deal, they stick a needle into the joint and remove fluid. I learned about it in my surgical procedures class. I also had to have it done when I had knee surgery awhile ago. It hurts a little, so maybe you can go with her and hold her hand? :D |
