I formatted the SD memory card via Windows (right clicked on the drive in explorer and formatted) and now the camera says "unable to use card". How do I restore it/format it to be usable with my camera?
Cheers,

| Reformat the card using the format function on the camera instead of using Windows XP. See your camera manual. |

I second that.
If that doesn't work, I don't see what else it could be. |

yeah some (stupid) cameras use a proprietary format... so always use the format from within your camera.
just curious, which camera do you own? |

Caution when you format memory card using Windows XP format function
(Note)
Memory cards include CompactFlash, MicroDrive, SD memory card, Multi Media Card (MMC), and SmartMedia (SSFDC).
When customers format a memory card over 32MB using the Windows XP format function, the file system default becomes “FAT32”.
All Minolta digital cameras (and most digital cameras on the market) do not support FAT32. Please make sure to change the file system to “FAT”, when you want to format a memory card over 32MB using the Windows XP format function. If you format the card under “FAT32”, please reformat it under the “FAT” file system. |
