URB September Issue:
URB MAGAZINE GOES TO THE POLLS!
It's time to start thinking very seriously about the 2004 Presidential election. Cover stars the BEASTIE BOYS have some advice on which way to cast: "DON'T VOTE FOR GEORGE BUSH!" Find out why they're so fervent in their anti-Bush beliefs in this month's insightful and revealing cover story. You'll also discover what inspired the multi-platinum new album TO THE FIVE BOUROUGHS and go behind the scenes of their current tour that's selling out arenas all across the country. There's more political discourse from such high-minded artists as MOBY, CHUCK D, MARGARET CHO, SAUL WILLIAMS and PAUL VAN DYK.

Who's America in stores NOW!
URB Magazine presents a collection of electronic and hip hop artists from System Recordings and Definitive Jux joining forces to raise voter awareness. Featuring RJD2, Dieselboy + Kaos, El-P & Camutao, Josh Wink, Christopher Lawrence, Mr. Lif, The Perceptionists, D:Fuse, Junior Sanchez, Hangar 18, and more!
Net profits from the sale of this CD go to Music for America & The League of Pissed Off Voters.
So don't hesitate - get it at itunes or SystemRecordings.com and at select retailers.

So if Madonna and The Beastie Boys say not to vote for Bush, I should believe them. Many people are fickle and will vote based om pop stars. Are there any tours for Bush? It is hard to find a group that is partial to both sides of the election. Why should I wote for Kerry except for going to some concert?
Go stupid lemmings!!!!! uh, I mean Americans!!!!
EDit - I should start Beer Drinkers for Bush and have a constant party for voting for Bush! My address is 1433 University Road next to College Road at Drunk Campus, USA |

I can't think for myself! Can I please get a few drugged out, high-school dropout musicians to make up my mind for me and tell me what to do? Can I, can I, can I???:haha:  |

Considering what sources you get your news from, that doesn't sound like much of a stretch. ;)
One of my friends recently commented that Howard Stern will probably have more impact on this upcoming election than any of the candidates themselves.
The sheeple aren't ALL right-wingers, you know. :toothless |

And what sources are those? I don't recall ever saying anything about my news sources. On the other hand, the auther of this thread cited URB Magazine, an alternative culture magazine that specializes in anything but politics. Care to explain your comments?
Oh wait...the author of this thread was none other than...YOU!
Bwahahahaha:stongue: |

I read just about everything under the sun, politically motivated (skewed) news sources and otherwise. I guess it's just easy for me given that I was reading at the 600 wpm level in the 8th grade.
You on the other hand... it's evident that you stick to the conservative press.
It's almost like it goes hand in hand, me being a Libertarian wanting to know everything about everything, and you being a Conservative Republican only wanting to know the things that enforce your narrow view of this world.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. (I'm sure you will, even if it's simply out of spite)
BTW - URB magazine isn't a source of information for any of my political ideologies. I read URB because I like to stay abreast of the EDM scene. I just thought I would clear that up so that you don't persist with your false presuppositions. |

Wow. Did you want a congratulations? Hint: Nobody likes a person who feels the need to brag about how "Smart" they are.

Evident by what? The fact that I hold a more conservative viewpoint? That tells nothing about what I use for a news source, rather it indicates the conclusions that I come up with based on how I use my noggin.

You hardly strike me as a "libertarian", as that would equate you more with me. You don't know me, yet you think you can pigeon hole me as a "conservative republican" based on a few comments that were posted in a thread, based on commentary from a liberal, music magazine? Please...

I'm above spite. This is the Internet. You're just another nameless, faceless person in cyberspace, just like me. It's hard for me to hate someone I've never met.

OK, then you admit that it's hardly a source of political information, so maybe you shouldn't have posted it in the Political/Debate forum!:D
Cheers. |
