Not that I need to justify this, but the tickets are now $40 plus fees, add that to cab(s) and drinks, and it's at LEAST a $70 or $80 night. |

Funny how you always list drinks as a necessary expense, even though the vast majority of us buy few or none of them... and even then, I suppose it's none of my business but you never struck me as the type to worry about spending $70 once in a blue moon. :conf:
Of course there's no need to justify anything but in that case, why bother with the excuse at all. I paid more than that to see Danny last time *not* including extras, I didn't have a lot of pocket change at the time, and I still don't regret it for an instant. If you're strapped for cash then fine, but I don't see the need to come off sounding like you think it's a ripoff - it's practically half the price of the Canada Day DT tickets, not to mention LOL tickets.
You don't want to go then don't go but please don't rain on our parade, thanks. :) |

I'm not raining on anyone's parade. I'm responding to jay's comment which implied I am cheap.
I don't regret spending ridiculous amounts on partying either. The last time Danny was here I also went to global gathering and paid for my ticket at the door. I must have spent 200 bucks that night - but I had fun. My priorities have changed since then though, and I'm choosing to go to Sneak Beats instead of this b/c it's more up my alley. I don't have the cash to go to every party anymore.
Danny's set was interesting from a programming and technical perspective, and I'm glad I experienced it, but 130bpm just isn't enough for me to shake my ass for - and that's what I'm paying for.
I don't think the event at the docks is a rip off at all. |

Well now in all fairness, you started it by saying "Danny = too expensive."
Nobody's critizing you if you ain't into house music (hell, I wouldn't go near it 2 months ago), it was just an odd thing to say considering just how comparatively low the price actually is. You could've just posted where you *were* planning on going instead. :p |
