Official TOTA Toronto International Film Festival thread

Well here's one event that goes on in our city that's worth being proud of. when i was visiting Mirza (DJ Hordash) in Antibes this summer, I arrived in France a few weeks after Cannes had taken place but I was delighted to hear the reaction that Toronto's Film Festival gets over there as being one of the premiere film events in the world.

Nonetheless, whether you're a fan of the arts or not, I figured that some of you might be interested in getting some more information about all this. I've posted some info below regarding ticket information. Bear in mind that some events cannot be accessed by public ticket purchases (invite only) so if you're interested you might want to PM tha_broad who now works for Roy Thompson Hall and might be able to fill you in a little better.

I'm heading to Ryerson today to meetup with Mirza to take care of some transcript stuff but it should be interesting being there seeing as how there will be some screenings going on in the theatre on campus.

Ok, am I the only one NOT excited about this? A whole bunch of celebrities rolling into town (whoop-dee-en-doo!) and everybody in the city going nuts about them, theatres charging $16 per movie, yadda yadda yadda... what's so hype about that? Maybe I'd be excited if I was making $10,000,000 per movie, but the way things are right now, bah.

(b), (c), (d) & (e) are of no interest/use to me, I couldn't care less about (f) (celebs are too busy being celebs to even care about most of us), and the only interesting point you've made is so far (a). :D :D

Anything else?

And this is where you are wrong...most of them are actually VERY nice and they are just people...as long as you treat them as people they'll treat you the same way back. I was working in the Yorkville area for a while and my gym is there too, and in fact I got a chance to meet a few...most of them are more nervous to talk to you than you are to them...besides...you are the reason they make money and they are in fact celebs...SO...most of them do like to pay attention to their fans ;)
Crazy Serb
I was speaking from experience as well ;)

You must have met some low level celebs then :D

lol .. thanks J..

yeah Mark was spinning tonite outside of Chum for the celebrity galla thing .. i was there with Hordash listening to some sweet beats along with several other thousand people outside. didn't care much for the celebrities.. i think i caught Neve Campbell and Tarantino(?). anyhow we just headed over to the Starbucks and chilled afterwards where Highroller met us up ..

if only we had more outdoor events like this without having to hav a film festival warrant it :wtf:
