I know im a trance geek but I usually can enjoy any style of EDM to a certain point. Tonight was just horrible. I've seen luke spin once before.. I wasnt amazed but I had a great time, tonight was a whole different story.. didn't hear one track that I was remotely into. Almost as if he didnt know what to stick to.. House or Breaks.. he would switch up the genre after every track.. half the he played the crowd couldnt even dance too. OH, and the crowd! Thats another thing.. maybe 100 - 120 ppl.. which was 80% guys. All in all a waste of a night.. the only upside was that I got in for free. Has anyone else seen Luke spin?? If so, give me your input.
I cant wait untill Oct. 10th.. Zabiela will be back in the W.. I know Armins spinning @ guv.. but I'll be seeing Armin on Oct. 1st in Detroit.. Those guv partys seem to be tapping into my bank account quite immensly (i think thats how its spelt).. need a break.

out.

from what ive heard from luke he plays good house music. ive never heard him play a peak time set which i think would be interesting. but like i said from what ive heard the house he plays is quality...nothing like OMG but its really nice...i guess i need to hear a peak time set frlom him to see how he does...

Could have been the venue... outside of the vibe at Zabiela which was pretty good, the vibe at Blast on regular nights is pretty damn awful. Bad vibes always bring dj's sets down.

I give Blast 6 months at best before it crashes and burns.

How often have you been to Blast and on what nights?

Everytime i have gone it's been fun. Of course you have to know which nights to attend. Perhaps Luke Fair just didn't play well?

I've only been there 4 or 5 times but a few friends spin there from time to time and I know a few other people that work there. One of those nights was for Zabiela which was by far the best night, and the other nights were on Friday or Saturday.

I like the setup of the club alot and it has alot of potential (like Platinum had), but it suffers from living on the "strip". The general concensus amongst my friends is that 2/3 of the people are there because they just stopped in while they work the strip, and the other 1/3 are there for the music... that being said, the music itself is really hit or miss. They like to cater to the EDM crowd but to bring in revenue they have to cater to the top 40 type people.

Last time Luke Fair played at Blast he was good but nothing that i got totally pumped for....thats why i missed this event! I think blast has a very good vibe, it started slow when they started the friday night edm but i think its picked up!! When Steve Porter went there, it was packed with people and it was a great night! Even the res. dj's fill that place up on Fridays!!!! Anyone in the area that likes this music knows where to go to hear it! :P

IMO Luke Fair has been hanging around w/ Sasha too much and has lost the "Luke Fair" sound.

After hearing Sasha a few months back and Luke a few weeks back - it sounded nearly the exact same. This used to not be the case.

Not to mention - when I heard Luke @ SystemS, every time Copeland tried to bring it up a notch, Luke dropped it on it's head (back down). I wasn't sure what exactly Luke's plan was - but the crowd was begging for more and Luke sure didn't give it (who knows why). For a headline spot it left the whole crowd "blue-balled" (if you know what mean).

Luke is skilled, yes. Luke -can- rock it out really nice, but I guess with all the collaberation w/ Sasha lately he's found his new muse; his muse is Sasha.

IMO, I thought Brad was too hard that night, esp. since the soundsystem was harsh sounding to begin with. A lot of the vocal tracks suffered too, and many of Luke's trademark "bombs" failed to make any impact on the dancefloor.

Anyways, sorry to hear that the Windsor gig didn't go well e*motion - if you can make it down to Toronto on Oct 1st maybe some of your faith in Luke will be restored (he'll be with Desyn Masiello at System).
