| I don't ever hear anything about good Electro producers. Can anyone out there throw me some names of some of the best Electro producers out there? |

AHHH! I LIKE YOUR QUESTION!
Sure, Kraftwerk... j/k, but only sort of, since they pioneered a lot of this. After all, where would we be without the interpolation of "Numbers" and "Trans-Europe Express" in Afrika Bambaataa's "Planet Rock"? You must be familiar with that.
You may interested in the work of -- ah, a name just came to mind -- Ed DMX and his thusly-named DMX Krew:

Download a mix from their website here, I can't recommend this one enough, it is a lot of fun:

A lot of seminal stuff was made in the 80s of course, and then, there was nu-electro more recently. Have you heard of John B? He is a diverse drum 'n' bass producer who included electro sounds in some of his tracks -- check out the "Celebrity" / "Electrostep" duo for a great pairing.
This may be of help to you (site's a bit slow to load right now):

A few specific tracks I like, all electroish:
BT and Sasha as "2 Phat s" - Ride
Herbie Han- Rockit
Cybotron - Clear
Kraftwerk - Computer World
Jedi Knights - May The Funk Be With You
BT & Tamra & Kevin Beber - Love In The Time Of Thieves
And here's a perhaps unlikely, but neverthess, choice compilation:
YES, IT'S FROM THE GRAND THEFT AUTO SOUNDTRACK! :)

WOW!
Now I remember why I liked GTA so much. Forget the ability to shoot, kill, and steal wherever and whenever I please. All about the kickass soundtrack :). |

For a quick and easy answer:
Since they're popular and should be easy to find, go listen to Cybotron - Clear or Afrika Bambaataa - Planet Rock (or any other track that aspergian posted). Those tracks and anything that sounds like them are electro.
Yet I have a feeling that a few choice words like "redundant" and "disclaimer" are about to be used.
Finally I join the ranks of people who think aspergian is "teh awesome". Never really felt the need to praise posts that had what everyone should know explained with flowery obfuscating speech, but finally something useful! :P |
