LOTR: Battle for Middle-Earth

Im quite a LOTR fan so i am interested in this game wich is coming out soon. The fact that is was a RTS game ( real time strategy ) was a downside for me. I love the whole idea of commanding armies and wage total war, but i SUCK at it, all my brilliant tactics dont work, and usually i dont have the patience to keep attacking and finally overpowering another army. This game lets you go more tactical ( smaller groups of special units ) and at the same time wage wars... huge wars...

Some points wich are really good are the graphics, but also alot of gameplay upgrades. Its quite hard to explain, but there are a few movies online. These movies made me look with my mouth open. Its great.

First off, there is a degree of emotions in it. Lets say in 'command and conquer' you command a batallion of men against a squad of tanks. The men just keep shooting till they get blown up themselves by the, logically, stronger tanks.
Now place that scene in LOTR style.
A batallion of Gondor Knights come face to face with a big Troll with a tree in his hand, and this Troll looks angry. The men know they are outstrengthed. You see them slowly walk back and making scared sounds. And when the Troll swings his tree it looks Xactly like the movie, units fly up in the air etc.
Some troops get scared and run away, others get squished.

On the other hand, when a large group of normal units is fighting a smaller group normal units, they start laughing and taunting. When they beat the enemies, they dont stand still, they start cheering in a realistic manner etc.

Its quite a lot to explain so i will give the links to a series of movies called 'inside the battle'.

They show enough what you can do and how it looks.

( SCROLL DOWN TO SEE Inside the Battle Vol. 1, Vol. 2, Vol. 3, etc )

download those movies, you will see for yourself. This is awesome.

Also if you feel like it, download some trailers, you will get the idea of the big battles that are featured in this game. Im gonna 'aquire' this as soon as it comes out!!

A detailled Nazgul on his Drake.

Remember one of the final scenes in ROTK? Aragorn and the rest of the fellowship stand there to lure Saurons eye from Frodo and Sam. Look at how amazingly the same it looks. And this is ingame!

Well it LOOKS like the movie, but you can let hero's die, you can lose or win battles, let Sauron win, have the 'BIG BATTLE WICH WILL TURN THE TIDE' around Isengard instead of Minas Tirith.

The campaign mode gives you a huge map where you can move your armies and figt when 2 armies mingle. When you have 1 army attacking, and for example, the riders of Rohan riding in from the east, they will actually appear on the map in the east. but its essentially all up to you.
