Today is September 15 and its my cousin Stephanie's birthday.

Its both a good thing and a bad thing.

Good: She is 21 and is in the Air Force.

Bad: She's taking a flight from Alaska all the way to IRAQ!! :nervous: and things have been hectic there.

I am concerned for her safety. Does anybody have friends or family that are in the military and are on duty overseas?

If so... post and pray.

2 of my friends enlisted last week, but they are doing electronics and stuff, so no traveling luckily...

For these kind of employees it's just like a regular job, except you have to go trough 5 weeks of training like anyone else who wants to join

Until 4 weeks ago I was in the RAF (Royal Air Force). Fortunately I didn't have to go to Iraq during my 7 years service but I did go to Oman in 2001 following 9/11.

Was a scary time but looking back now, it was a good experience. Shame it happened under the particular circumstances. :(

I'm sure she'll be fine though!!!

My brother is a captain of the C-17 Globemaster III in the Airforce. He is stationed in Germany (Ramstein AFB) and flys regularly into Baghdad International. He has dropped off troops, supplys, presidential supplys (limos etc) and over 4 billion in greenbacks. I fear for his safety but it is his career and his duty and I support him fully.

Alaska to Iraq haven't heard that one before. Why is she in alaska and why is she goign to iraq

First of all, she's in the Air Force and there's an air force base in Alaska.

Thankfully, she's now in Iran to keep her out of harms way.

She went to Iraq, I believe for security measures.
