| match has been abandoned, I don't think uefa will do too much tho, i cant see it anyway, I suspect a 3-0 win to be awarded to kiev and maybe fine/points deduction for roma |

Roma's Champions League match against Dynamo Kiev was abandoned at half-time after referee Anders Frisk was struck by an object thrown from the crowd.

The incident happened as Frisk walked off at the interval and left the Swede with blood dripping from his head.
Just after blowing for half-time with Kiev leading 1-0, Frisk had sent off Roma defender Philippe Mexes after he petulantly kicked Maris Verpakovskis.
"We deplore what has happened," said Uefa spokesman William Gaillard.
The Uefa spokesman added: "We will wait for the match delegate's report as well as the referee's own report of the incident.
"This is the first time in many years that a European match has been stopped for such an incident - sometimes there have been electrical failures with floodlights of course, but this is something far worse."
It is not the first time Roma have been in trouble.
Two years ago Roma and Turkish side Galatasaray were involved in a mass brawl involving players, officials and riot police at the end of a Champions League game in Rome.
Frisk also refereed that game.
After Roma appealed, Uefa reduced some of the punishments it handed out to the Italian club.
Roma captain Francesco Totti had his suspension reduced from three matches to two, while Brazilian midfielder Francisco Lima's three-match ban was cut to one.
Uefa also withdrew its decision to ban Roma from the Olympic stadium for one match, instead fining the Italian club £221,000.
Last season Roma and Lazio fans also clashed with police outside the Olympic Stadium after the city derby was suspended by a false rumour that a child had been killed by a police car. |
This is bang out of order but I'm not holding my breath on UEFA taking any serious action. This sort of thing happens a lot in places like Italy and UEFA usually turn a blind eye or just give the club a slap on the wrist. Maybe the fact that it has happened on the international stage will put UEFA under the microscope and force them to act, but it hasn't in the past.
Kiev must be awarded the 3 points, surely? Otherwise any team that is losing could just twat the referee and get the game replayed! |

Probably not but if it was an English teams fans there would be uproar from all quarters with the clamour for the harshest punishment possible |

how can a fan be that accurate? Isn't the pitch far away from the stands at the Olimpico?
Anyways Roma have had other incidences in the past like the brawl against Galatasaray in the same competition two seasons ago. They need a harsh punishment. |

Apparently it was as the players were leaving the field at half time. |

If it happened in England I think we'd see the punishment magnified and possibly the club banned from the tournament, but as it's happened in Italy it'll probably just be a slap on the wrist for Roma.
It begs the quesiton, what will it take for UEFA to clamp down on these clubs? |

Very bad incident if you ask me, Anders Frisk is sound, brilliant referee!
It was a bloody good shot, they also caught a guy on camera lobbing a lighter in Frisk's direction too. |
